To find percents.

First divide -----> 18/20 = 0.9

Then multiply by 100 or move decimal 2 places to the right.

----> 0.9 * 100 = 90

Sherrie invested some money at 6% interest. Sherrie also invested $249 more than 4 times that amount at 12%. How much is investe
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

  • 6%: $1776
  • 12%: $7353

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the amount invested at 6%. Then the amount invested at 12% is 4x+249. Sherrie's interest is ...

  0.06x +0.12(4x +249) = 988.92

  0.54x + 29.88 = 988.92

  0.54x = 959.04

  x = 959.04/0.54 = 1776

  4x+249 = 7353

__

Sherrie invested $1776 at 6% and $7353 at 12%.

5 yrs ago, Nuri was thrice as old as Sonu. 10 yrs later, Nuri will be twice as old Sonu. How old are Nuri n Sonu?
Papessa [141]

Answer:

Answer will be 50

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us suppose, present age of Nuri be ‘x’ years and present age of Sonu be ‘y’ years.

Now, it is given that five years ago, Nuri was thrice old as Sonu. Hence,

Five years ago,

Nuri’s age = x-5 years

Sonu’s age = y-5 years

And relation between ages can be given as

Nuri’s age = 3×sonu’s age or

x-5 = 3(y-5)

x-5 = 3y-15

x-3y+10 = 0 ………..(i)

Another relation is given in the problem that ten years later, Nuri is twice as old as Sonu.

So, ten years ago,

Nuri’s Age = x+10

Sonu’s Age = y+10

And relation between ages can be written as

x+10 = 2(y+10)

x+10 = 2y+20

x-2y-10 = 0 …………..(ii)

Now we can solve the equation (i) and (ii) to get values of x and ‘y’ or present ages of Nuri and Sonu.

Value of ‘x’ from equation (i) be

x = 3y-10 ……….(iii)

Putting value of ‘x’ from equation (iii) in equation (ii) we get,

3y-10-2y-10 = 0

y = 20

Now, from equation (iii) value of ’x’ can be given as,

x= 3(20)-10

x = 50

Hence, the present ages of Nuri and Sonu are 50 years and 20 years respectively.

2. Tomás compró una bicicleta en $199.900. Primero, canceló la mitad y el resto en 7 cuotas de igual valor, con un interés total
Papessa [141]

Answer:

Cada cuota tendrá un valor de $14,850.

Step-by-step explanation:

Look at the right-angled triangle ABC.
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

∠x = 90°

∠y = 58°

∠z = 32°

Step-by-step explanation:

he dimensions of the angles given are;

∠B = 32°

Whereby ΔABC is a right-angled triangle, and the square fits at angle A, we have;

∠A = 90°

∠B + ∠C = 90° which gives

32° + ∠C = 90°

∠C = 58°

∠x + Interior angle of the square = 180° (Sum of angles on a straight line)

∠x + 90° = 180°

∠x = 90°

∠x + ∠y + 32° = 180° (Sum of angles in a triangle)

90° + ∠y + 32° = 180°

∠y = 180 - 90° - 32° = 58°

∠y + ∠z + Interior angle of the square = 180° (Sum of angles on a straight line)

58° + ∠z +90° = 180°

∴ ∠z = 32°

∠x = 90°

∠y = 58°

∠z = 32°
