Two pipes simultaneously vibrate with their fundamental frequencies, one at 400 Hz and another at 800 Hz. Each pipe can be eithe

r an open-open or an open-closed pipe. Assume that the speed of sound in air is 340 m/s. Determine the length of the pipes if you know that the pipes have equal lengths.

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Two Fundamental frequencies are 400 Hz and 800 Hz

Each Pipe has same length L

Fundamental frequency corresponding to pipe with both side open

f_0_{opn}=\frac{v}{2L}

where v=velocity of sound

Fundamental frequency corresponding to pipe with one side open and other side close

f_0_{close}=\frac{v}{4L}

we can see that fundamental frequency of both side open pipe is twice of second pipe

so 800 Hz frequency will correspond to both side open pipe

800=\frac{340}{2\cdot L}

L=0.2125\ m

- A thin film of oil * (n = 1.45) on a puddle of water, producing different colors. What is the minimum thickness of a place whe
Darya [45]

Answer:

There will be a phase change at the first interface and no phase change at the second interface:

If the film is 1/4 wavelength thick this restriction will hold

The wavelength of the light in oil is 545 nm / 1.45 = 376 nm

376 nm / 4 = 94 nm

Un avión vuela a una velocidad de 900 km/h. Si tarda en viajar desde Canarias hasta la península 180 s ¿qué distancia recorre en
wel

Answer:

El avión recorrió 45 km en los 180 s.

Explanation:

La relación entre velocidad, distancia y tiempo se da de la siguiente manera;

Velocidad= \dfrac{Distancia}{Hora}

Por lo cual los parámetros dados son los siguientes;

Velocidad = 900 km/h = 250 m / s

Tiempo = 180 s

Estamos obligados a calcular la distancia recorrida

De la ecuación para la velocidad dada arriba, tenemos;

Distancia recorrida = Velocidad pf viaje × Tiempo de viaje

Distancia recorrida = 900 km/h × 180 s = 900

Distancia recorrida = 900 km/h × 1 h/60 min × 1 min/60 s × 180 s = 45 km

Por lo tanto, el avión viajó 45 km en 180 s.

What is the longest wavelength of light that will emit electrons from a metal whose work function is 3.70 eV
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

h f = Wf + K

where the total energy available is h f, Wf is the work function or the work needed to remove the electron and K is the kinetic energy of the removed electron

If K = zero then hf = Wf

Wf = h f = h c / λ    or

λ = h c / Wf = 6.63E-34 * 3.0E8 / (3.7 * 1.6E-19)

λ = 6.63 * 3 / (3.7 * 1.6) E-7 = 3.36E-7

This would be 3360 angstroms or 336 millimicrons

Visible light = 400-700 millimicrons
