Two pipes simultaneously vibrate with their fundamental frequencies, one at 400 Hz and another at 800 Hz. Each pipe can be eithe

r an open-open or an open-closed pipe. Assume that the speed of sound in air is 340 m/s. Determine the length of the pipes if you know that the pipes have equal lengths.

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Two Fundamental frequencies are 400 Hz and 800 Hz

Each Pipe has same length L

Fundamental frequency corresponding to pipe with both side open

f_0_{opn}=\frac{v}{2L}

where v=velocity of sound

Fundamental frequency corresponding to pipe with one side open and other side close

f_0_{close}=\frac{v}{4L}

we can see that fundamental frequency of both side open pipe is twice of second pipe

so 800 Hz frequency will correspond to both side open pipe

800=\frac{340}{2\cdot L}

L=0.2125\ m

A potential difference of 3.27 nV is set up across a 2.16 cm length of copper wire that has a radius of 2.33 mm. How much charge
miskamm [114]

Answer:

Charge = 4.9096 x 10⁻⁷ C

Explanation:

First, we find the resistance of the copper wire.

R = ρL/A

where,

R = resistance = ?

ρ = resistivity of copper = 1.69 x 10⁻⁸ Ω.m

L = Length of wire = 2.16 cm = 0.0216 m

A = Cross-sectional area of wire = πr² = π(0.00233 m)² = 1.7 x 10⁻⁵ m²

Therefore,

R = (1.69 x 10⁻⁸ Ω.m)(0.0216 m)/(1.7 x 10⁻⁵ m²)

R = 2.14 x 10⁻⁵ Ω

Now, we find the current from Ohm's Law:

V =IR

I = V/R

I = 3.27 x 10⁻⁹ V/2.14 x 10⁻⁵ Ω

I = 1.52 x 10⁻⁴ A

Now, for the charge:

I = Charge/Time

Charge = (I)(Time)

Charge = (1.52 x 10⁻⁴ A)(3.23 x 10⁻³ s)

Charge = 4.9096 x 10⁻⁷ C

What happens when the wire in an electromagnet is wrapped around a soft iron core?
Pavlova-9 [17]
The magnetic particles in a soft iron nail will line up with the magnetic field when the current is switched on. ... When you switch on the current, the coil becomes an electromagnet. But also, the soft iron core becomes a magnet. It will add to the strength of the electromagnet.

Whenever you push an object across a frictional surface, it starts out taking a lot of force to push to get the object moving. H
son4ous [18]

Answer:

The answer is A

Explanation:

Here's an example. A child is in school taking a test. They have made a mistake on a question, and want to erase it. The eraser is made out of a type of rubber, the rubber has friction, which means the eraser has something that's going to resist movement. Now the child has exerted enough force to get it moving, and it's moving, it won't stop unless the child stops exerting force to keep it moving. Both Newton's 1st and 3rd law explain the action of moving something on a surface with friction.
