"45 meters north" is an example of
avanturin [10]

Answer:

Displacement

Explanation:

The quantity 45m north is a typical example of displacement.

Displacement is the distance traveled by a body in a specific direction. Displacement is a vector quantity with both magnitude and direction.

  • When we are specifying the displacement of a body, the direction must be indicated accurately.
  • Therefore, the quantity given is displacement

although the pivot exerts a force on the ruler it does not exert a torque with respect to the pivot point. why not?
allsm [11]

Answer:

The situation is not shown, however if one calculates torques about the pivot point, then the pivot point itself exerts no torque because the force applied by the pivot point exerts zero torque because Fp * L = 0 where L = 0 in this case.

If one wants to calculate torques about, say, the end of the ruler then one would need to calculate the torque applied by the pivot point.

A voltaic cell is constructed with two Zn2+-Zn electrodes, where the half-reaction is Zn2+ + 2e− → Zn (s) E° = -0.763 V The conc
wariber [46]

Answer : The cell emf for this cell is 0.077 V

Solution :

The balanced cell reaction will be,

Oxidation half reaction (anode):  Zn(s)\rightarrow Zn^{2+}+2e^-

Reduction half reaction (cathode):  Zn^{2+}+2e^-\rightarrow Zn(s)

In this case, the cathode and anode both are same. So, E^o_{cell} is equal to zero.

Now we have to calculate the cell emf.

Using Nernest equation :

E_{cell}=E^o_{cell}-\frac{0.0592}{n}\log \frac{[Zn^{2+}{diluted}}{[Zn^{2+}{concentrated}]}

where,

n = number of electrons in oxidation-reduction reaction = 2

E_{cell} = ?

[Zn^{2+}{diluted}] = 0.0111 M

[Zn^{2+}{concentrated}] = 4.50 M

Now put all the given values in the above equation, we get:

E_{cell}=0-\frac{0.0592}{2}\log \frac{0.0111M}{4.50M}

E_{cell}=0.077V

Therefore, the cell emf for this cell is 0.077 V

A heavy box is pulled across a wooden floor with a rope. The rope forms an angle of
ankoles [38]

Answer:

69.28N

Explanation:

horizontal force

Cos 60°= F(horizontal)/80N

If we cross multiply, we have

F(horizontal)= 80 cos 60°

= 40N

vertical forces

Sin 60°= F(vertical)/80N

If we cross multiply we have

F( vertical) = 80 sin 60°

= 69.28N

Therefore, the vertical force is 69.28N
