Find the area of the figure.<br><br> A) 114 cm2 <br> B) 350 cm2 <br> C) 418 cm2 <br> D) 447 cm2
NISA [10]
Square has 4 equal sides so it would be the same for all the corresponding sides.

area of square = s*s

                        = 19*19

                       = 361cm^2

area of triangle = \frac{hb}{2}

                         = 19*6

                         = 114/2

                         = 57cm^2

total area = 57+361=418cm^2

PLS HELP! Will give 25 points!
RSB [31]

Answer and explanation:

Given: Belinda wants to invest $1,000. The table below shows the value of her investment under two different options for three different years:

Number of years 1 2 3

Option 1 (amount in dollars) 1100 1200 1300

Option 2 (amount in dollars) 1100 1210 1331

To find:

Part A: What type of function, linear or exponential, can be used to describe the value of the investment after a fixed number of years using option 1 and option 2?

Part B: Write one function for each option to describe the value of the investment f(n), in dollars, after n years.

Part C: Will there be any significant difference in the value of Belinda's investment after 20 years if she uses option 2 over option 1?

Solution:

Part A: Linear and exponential functions can be used to describe the value of the investment after a fixed number of years using option 1 and option 2, respectively.

Part B: (n=n+100) and (n=n+100x) are the functions for each option to describe the value of the investment f(n), in dollars, after n years.

Part C: Yes, there will be a significant difference of 1900 in the value of Belinda's investment after 20 years if she uses option 2 over option 1.

Part A:

In the case of option 1, the linear function can be used to describe the value of the investment after a fixed number of years. This is because, in option one, the amount increases by a fixed amount every year.

In the case of option 2, the exponential function can be used to describe the value of the investment after a fixed number of years. This is because, in option 2, the amount increase is higher than last year.

Part B:

For option 1, the function is

For option 2, the function is

Here, x is the increase in amount every consecutive year.

Part C:

After 20 years, the amount from option 1 would be 3000 and the amount from option 2 would be 4900. Thus, there is a difference between 1900.

Therefore,

Part A: Linear and exponential functions can be used to describe the value of the investment after a fixed number of years using option 1 and option 2, respectively.

Part B: (n=n+100) and (n=n+100x) are the functions for each option to describe the value of the investment f(n), in dollars, after n years.

Part C: Yes, there will be a significant difference of 1900 in the value of Belinda's investment after 20 years if she uses option 2 over option 1.

Hope this helps

Identify the expressions for which limits exist.
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Limits exist for:

\lim_{x \to4 \4} \frac{x^2 -x-12}{4-x} = \frac{(x-4)(x+3)}{4-x} = ( - 1 )( x + 3 ) = - 7

\lim_{x \to \ 2} \frac{x^2 +2x-8}{2-x} = \frac{(x+4)(x-2)}{2-x} = ( - 1 )( x + 4 ) = - 6

\lim_{x \to2 } \frac{x^2 +3x - 10}{x^2 -4} = \frac{(x+5)(x-2)}{(x+2)(x-2)} = \frac{x+5}{x+2} = \frac{7}{4}

A flower bed is in the shape of a triangle, with a base of 15 feet and a height of 9 feet. What is the area of the flower bed?
Mama L [17]
Okay so the formula for this is going to be 1/2*base*height. The * means multiply.

so to do it easily lets start with the whole numbers.
15*9=135
so we take that and divide it by two because that it the same as multiplying by 1/2
135/2=The area will be 67.5!!!
Hope this helps you

A student is told to work any 8 out of 10 questions on an exam. In how many different ways can he complete the exam
Korolek [52]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the order in which he answers the questions matter the answer is the number of permutations of 8 in 10.

This is 10! / (10-8)!

= 1,814.400.

If the order does not matter then the answer is the number of combinations of 8 from 10:

This is 10!/8!*2!

= 45.
