Consecutive even integers are -8, -6 and -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let  be the first even integer then the next two integers will be: x+2 and x+6

According to given property, we get

x - 2(x+2) = (x+4)+8\\x-2x-4 = x+4+8\\-x-4 = x+12\\-x-x = 12+4\\-2x = 16

Dividing both sides by -2

\frac{-2x}{-2} = \frac{16}{-2}\\x = -8

The two next integers are:

x+2 = -8+2 = -6

x+4 = -8+4 = -4

<u>Verification:</u>

-8-2(-6) = -4+8\\-8+12 = +4\\4 = 4

Hence, Consecutive even integers are -8, -6 and -4

What is the answer hellp
lutik1710 [3]
(#22)  Ok first, before we answer anything, let's get organized. All the numbers are out of order and can be very confusing, so lets put them in ascending(rising) order from 0 to 11. That would result in:
0, 0, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11.
Now that its in order, its easier to see how many dots to put on top of each number. You would put two on top of 0, one on top of 1, five on top of 2, and so on.

The diagonal of a square is x units. What is the area of the square in terms of X?
lesantik [10]

Answer:

\frac{1}{2}x^2 square units

Step-by-step explanation:

The simple formula we need here is:

d=s\sqrt{2}

Where

d is length of diagonal

s is length of side of square

Let's find side length of square from information given:

d=s\sqrt{2} \\x=s\sqrt{2} \\s=\frac{x}{\sqrt{2}}

Now,

we know area of square is  s^2

We know s, and now we find area

Area = s^2\\(\frac{x}{\sqrt{2}})^2\\\frac{x^2}{2}\\\frac{1}{2}x^2

The first answer choice is right, 1/2x^2 sq. units.

Ivan and Tanya share £150 in the ratio 4:1 Work out how much more Ivan gets compared to Tanya.
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

Ivan get 90 pounds more than Tanya.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it's a 4:1 ratio there is 5 parts in total. So i divided the 150 by 5 to get 30. From there i multiplies the 30 by 4 to get Ivan's portion and Tanya only has one portion which is 30. So Ivan has 120 and Tanya has 30, 120-30= 90
