At an amusement park there is a ride in which cylindrically shaped chambers spin around a central axis. People sit in seats faci

ng the axis, their backs against the outer wall. At one instant the outer wall moves at a speed of 3.44 m/s, and an 64.8-kg person feels a 261-N force pressing against his back. What is the radius of a chamber?

Answer:

r = 2.93 m

Explanation:

mass of the person = 64.8 kg

speed v = 3.44 m/s

Force F = 261 N

using formula

F = \dfrac{mv^2}{r}

the radius of the chamber is given by

r = \dfrac{mv^2}{F}

r = \dfrac{64.8\times 3.44^2}{261}

r = 2.93 m

so, the radius of a chamber is equal to 2.93 m

A tub of water is placed in a small room and heat is removed from the room. What will most likely occur if enough heat is remove
NARA [144]

Answer:

(A)The water will freeze.

Explanation:

Heat is the energy that when transferred causes change in temperature. If heat is added to a body by some process the bodies temperature increases and if heat is removed from a body by some process the temperature reduces.

In this case if enough heat is removed from the room the internal movement of the water particles will slow down causing the water to form crystal lattice thus forming ice. So, the water will freeze.
