Answer:

D. Logical Fallacies

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's break this down:

fallacy: A false or mistaken idea.

By this definition, we can see that "false" would go with the word "faulty". A logical Fallacy is is a false or mistaken idea that's intended to sound logical. I hope this helps you!!

Write the equation of a line:
yawa3891 [41]

a)    Line parallel to the line 3x+5y=-10 is -6x-10y=9

b)    Line parallel to the line 2y-4x=5 and which goes through the point

       (3,7) is y= 2x-1.

c)      Line perpendicular to the line 8x+6y=-1 and which goes through the

        point (-2,1) is 4y= 3x+ 10

<h3>What is equation of line?</h3>

The standard form of equation of a line is ax + by + c = 0. Here a, b, are the coefficients, x, y are the variables, and c is the constant term. It is an equation of degree one, with variables x and y.

a) Equation parallel to 3x+5y=-10 is

    -6x-10y=9

So, it satisfies:  \frac{a_1}{a_2} = \frac{b_1}{b_2} \neq \frac{c_1}{c_2}

b)given equation into the form of y=mx+c,

     2y-4x=5

we can find the gradient of the line.

  2y= 5+4x

  y= \frac{5}{2} + 2x

Hence, the gradient is 2.

As, Parallel lines have the same gradient

Thus the line would also have a gradient of 2.

Substitute m=2 into the equation:

y= 2x +c

To find the value of c, substitute a pair of coordinates.

When x=3, y=7,

7= 2(3) +c

7= 6 +c

c=6-7

c= -1

So, equation of line be: y= 2x-1.

c) Given: 8x+6y=-1

     6y= -1-8x

     y= \frac{-1}{6} -\frac{4}{3}x

Hence, m= -\frac{4}{3}

We know, if two lines are perpendicular have m and m' as slope then,

m*m'=-1

\frac{-4}{3} *m'=-1

 m'= \frac{3}{4}

Now, y= \frac{3}{4} x +c

Put x= -1 and y=1

then, 1= \frac{3}{4} (-2) + c

         c= \frac{5}{3}

So,  y= \frac{3}{4} x + \frac{5}{2}

     4y= 3x+ 10

Explain why the equation 6|x| + 25 = 15 has no solution. When one solves, they arrive at a step where |x| is equal to a negative
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets start solving until we get stuck,

6|x|+25=15

Subtract 25 from both sides

6|x|+25-25=15-25

Subtract

6|x|=-10

Divide both sides by 6

6|x|/6=-10/6

Divide

|x|=-10/6

We get stuck here, we need x to be negative but we cant have a negative x since we have absolute value. This means the answer is b.

Suppose that the price p (in dollars) and the weekly sales x (in thousands of units) of a certain commodity satisfy the deman
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

dx/dt = 12 (in thousands of units /week)

Step-by-step explanation:

We have from problem statement that:

8*p³ + x² = 104    (1)

Where p is price in $, and "x" is the weekly sales in thousands of units

All variables  x  and  p change in relation to time then

Differentiating on both sides of the equation, we get:

24*p²*dp/dt +  2*x*dx/dt = 0      (1)

We need to find dx/dt and we know

p = 20

x = 200

And price is falling at the rate of 0,5 $/week

Then plugging these values in equation (1)

24*p²*dp/dt  = - 2*x*dx/dt

24*(20)²(-0,5) = -400*dx/dt

-4800  = -400*dx/dt

dx/dt = 4800/400

dx/dt = 12 (in thousands of units /week)

If you are at (0,0) on a coordinate grid, what direction do you go to plot point (-2,6)
lidiya [134]

Answer:

go left 2 and up 6

Step-by-step explanation:

(x,y)

(x,y) --> (-2,6)

0 = x      0 = y

0 - 2 = -2 = x

0 + 6 = 6 = y

(-2,6)

When making the X negative, you want to go left on the grid. When making Y positive, you want to go up on the grid.
