Often, you will find your calculator is your friend when working problems like these.

If you want to work it by hand, convert all mixed numbers to improper fractions. Then multiply the numerator by the reciprocal (inverse) of the denominator.
  = (5/2)/(5/8) . . . . convert numerator to improper fraction
  = (5/2)*(8/5) . . . . invert the denominator and multiply
  = (5/5)*(8/2) . . . . rearrange to aid simplification
  = 4

The quotient is 4.

I need help on this. its a chance to get a passing grade
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

1 5/6

Step-by-step explanation:

We first convert each mixed number to an improper fraction.

To change -6 7/8, we will ignore the negative at first.  Multiply the whole number by the denominator:

6(8) = 48

Add the numerator:

48+7 = 55

Putting the negative back in, we have -55/8.

To change -3 3/4, ignore the negative at first.  Multiply the whole number by the denominator:

3(4) = 12

Add the numerator:

12+3 = 15

Putting the negative back in, we have -15/4.

This gives us

-55/8 ÷ -15/4

To divide fractions, flip the second one and multiply:

-55/8 × -4/15

Multiply straight across:

(-55×-4)/(8×15) = 220/120

Simplifying this, we know that both 220 and 120 are divisible by 10; this gives us

22/12

Both 22 and 12 are even, so they are both divisible by 2.  This gives us

11/6

6 will go into 11 one time, with 5 remaining; this gives us

1 5/6

What value of x is line a parallel to line b?
Aliun [14]

Answer:

x=15

Step-by-step explanation:

the angle 7x+12 and 63 are on opposite sides of complimentary, meaning they add to 180.

180-63 = 117

117-12 = 105

Write the coordinates for the given dilation
Olegator [25]

<u>Answer:</u>

D_o of Y = (-3/2, -1)

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

We are given three points on the graph:

X (4, 0)

Y (3, 2)

Z (2, 2)

and the scale factor of dilation which is -\frac{1}{2}.

Given that, we are to find the coordinates of Y after dilation. To find that, we will multiply the coordinates of the point Y with the scale factor.

Y =  (-\frac{1}{2} × 3 , (-\frac{1}{2}[/tex] × 2)

Y = (-\frac{3}{2} , -1)
