1. True
2. True
3. False
4. True
5. True

3. Heat can be thought of as the movement of particles (molecules etc). The faster they move the hotter things are. Energy of movement is called kinetic energy. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles, while thermal energy is the total kinetic energy of the particles.

What is the temperature difference if 300 cal are used to warm water
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

<u>The temperature difference is</u> \frac{300}{m} Kkg^{-1}

Explanation:

The formula that is to used is :

ΔQ=msΔT

<em>where ,</em>

  • <em>ΔQ is the heat supplied in calories = 300cal</em>
  • <em>m is the mass of water taken = m (assumed)</em>
  • <em>ΔT is the change in temperature</em>
  • <em>s is the specific heat of water = 1calK^{-1}Kg^{-1}</em>

ΔT :

\frac{300}{m*1} \\=\frac{300}{m} Kkg^{-1}

What is the molar mass of water (H2O)?
Sidana [21]

Answer:

The molar mass is: 18.02 g/mol.

Explanation:

  • Mass of two moles of Hydrogen atoms (H2) = 2x 1 g/mol = 2 g/mol.
  • Mass of one mole of water (H2O) = 2 g/mol + 16 g/mol = 18 g/mol.

1 mole of Hydrogen= 1.01, so if we have 2 moles of it here, that would be 2.02.

1 mole of Oxygen (that's all we have here)= 16.00

Once you add the two together (2.02+16.00), you will get 18.02.

I hope this made sense! Have a great day!
