Answer :

(A) Br₂ (s) : molecular solids

(B) AgCl (s) : ionic solids

(C) S (s) : atomic solids

(D) CH₄ (s) : molecular solids

Explanation :

Molecular solids : It is defined as the solids in which they are held together by covalent forces, dipole interactions as attractive forces etc.

Ionic solids : It is defined as the solids in which the atoms composed with oppositely charged ions.

Atomic solids : It is defined as the solids in which the molecules are held together by covalent forces and also includes pure substance.

(A) Br₂ (s)

It is molecular solids because they are held together by covalent forces.

(B) AgCl (s)

It is ionic solids because in this atoms composed with oppositely charged ions.

(C) S (s)

It is atomic solids because it is a pure substance.

(D) CH₄ (s)

It is molecular solids because they are held together by covalent forces.

In a lab experiment 80.0 g of ammonia [NH3] and 120 g of oxygen are placed in a reaction vessel. At the end of the reaction 72.2
valentinak56 [21]

The percent yield of the reaction : 89.14%

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Reaction of Ammonia and Oxygen in a lab :

<em>4 NH₃ (g) + 5 O₂ (g) ⇒ 4 NO(g)+ 6 H₂O(g)</em>

mass NH₃ = 80 g

mol NH₃ (MW=17 g/mol):

\dfrac{80}{17}=4.706

mass O₂ = 120 g

mol O₂(MW=32 g/mol) :

\tt \dfrac{120}{32}=3.75

Mol ratio of reactants(to find limiting reatants) :

\tt \dfrac{4.706}{4}\div \dfrac{3.75}{5}=1.1765\div 0.75\rightarrow O_2~limiting~reactant(smaller~ratio)

mol of H₂O based on O₂ as limiting reactants :

mol H₂O :

\tt \dfrac{6}{5}\times 3.75=4.5

mass H₂O :

4.5 x 18 g/mol = 81 g

The percent yield :

\tt \%yield=\dfrac{actual}{theoretical}\times 100\%\\\\\%yield=\dfrac{72.2}{81}\times 100\%=89.14\%

According to observations, the overall chemical composition of our solar system and other similar star systems is approximately
jonny [76]

Answer:A

Explanation:

The solar system consist of the sun, the planets, stars and other objects. The chemical composition of the Sun consist mainly of Hydrogen and helium.

The sun is the largest object in the Solar system, it comprises nearly all the matter in the Solar System, Also the largest planet after the Sun are Jupiter and Saturn are giant planets forming almost the remaining matter of the solar system.

Like the Sun, the mass of Jupiter and Saturn are composed of roughly 98% hydrogen and helium with 2% of all the other elements combined.

How many moles of helium is required to blow up a balloon to 87.1 liters at 74 C and 3.5 atm?
marshall27 [118]

Moles of helium is required to blow up a balloon to 87.1 liters at 74 C and 3.5 atm is  021.65 mole

Mole is the unit of amount of substances of specified elementary entities

According to the ideal gas law he number of moles of a gas n can be calculated knowing the partial pressure of a gas p in a container with a volume V at an absolute temperature T from the equation

n =pV/RT

Here given data is volume = 87.1 liters

Temperature = 74 °C means 347.15 k

Pressure = 3.5 atm

R = 0.0821

Putting this value in ideal gas equation then

n =pV/RT

n =  3.5 atm×87.1 liters / 0.0821 ×347.15 k

n = 021.65 mole

Moles of helium is required to blow up a balloon to 87.1 liters at 74 C and 3.5 atm is  021.65 mole
