Th e central iron ion of cytochrome c changes between the +2 and +3 oxidation states as the protein shuttles electrons between c

Answer:

Fe2+ atom has a larger size than Fe3+.

Explanation:

The electron transport chain is important for the production of the ATP molecule. The oxygen molecule acts as the final electron acceptor in the electron transport chain.

The size of the cation is always small as compared with the parental atoms. Two electrons are removed from Fe2+ and three electrons are removed from  Fe3+. This removal of electron increases the attraction force between the electron of the outermost shell and the nucleus and decreases the repulsion force between the electrons and thus decreases in size.

Many people believe that vitamins and minerals are essentially the same type of nutrient but they are not: one is an organic mol
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

The correct statements are listed below.

Explanation:

Vitamins are organic and minerals are inorganic.

Organic compounds comes from living things.Vitamins generally exist as organic compounds for example all the vitamin such as vitamin A, Thiamine, riboflavin, biotin, pyridoxin, vitamin c,vitamin E, vitamin K exist as organic compounds.

On the other hand minerals are found in inorganic form for example nitrogen is found as nitrate and nitrite, phosphorus is found as phosphate group, phosphoric acid.

Select ALL of the following that are directly used to control fatty acid oxidation in cells.
Serjik [45]

Answer:

The correct statements are A negative feed back regulation if free fatty acid accumulate C targeting the acetyl CoA transport shuttle in the mitochondrial membrane

Explanation:

The beta oxidation of fatty acid can be regulated by several following ways.

A The accumulation of free fatty acids exerts negative feedback during beta oxidation of fatty acids. As oxidation of fatty acids result in the breakdown of complex fatty acids in free fatty acids and acetyl CoA,the accumulation of free fatty acids lowers the rate of beta oxidation of fatty acid.

C The targeting of end  product of beta oxidation that is acetyl CoA to the mitochondrial membrane also regulates the beta oxidation pathway.Because more the transport of acetyl CoA to the mitochondrial membrane more will be the rate of fatty acid break down by beta oxidation.
