Please Help! When drawing free-body diagrams, does the label "centripetal force" get used? Explain why.

Physics

Explanation:

No.  Centripetal force is a not a force itself, but rather a sum of forces.  From Newton's second law:

∑F = ma

∑F = m v²/r

So centripetal force does not get used on a free body diagram.

What is the nuclear binding energy in joules for an atom of helium–4? Assume the following: Mass defect = 5.0531 × 10-29 kilogra
Romashka [77]
The equation given, E = mc², can be directly used to determine the unknown amount of nuclear binding energy. Substitute the values given to the equation,
               E = (5.0531 x 10^-29 kg) x (3 x 10^8 m/s)² = 4.548 x 10^-12 J
Thus, the nuclear binding energy is equal to 4.548 x 10^-12 J.

Unless you are a mutant....I don't think you would make it. I'm 5'8" and most people are 6'7" or less. It's bsically impossible to do. :)

A car is traveling at 50 mi/h when the brakes are fully applied, producing a constant deceleration of 44 ft/s2. What is the dist
elena55 [62]

Answer:

Distance, d = 61.13 ft

Explanation:

It is given that,

Initial speed of the car, u = 50 mi/h = 73.34 ft/s

Finally, it stops i.e. v = 0

Deceleration of the car, a=-44\ ft/s^2

We need to find the distance covered before the car comes to a stop. Let the distance is s. It can be calculated using third law of motion as :

v^2-u^2=2as

s=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2a}

s=\dfrac{0-(73.34\ ft/s)^2}{2\times -44\ ft/s^2}

s = 61.13 ft

So, the distance covered by the car before it comes to rest is 61.13 ft. Hence, this is the required solution.
