45x + 40x = 150

the total we are trying to reach or get relatively close to without exceeding is 150 because that is the total amount of carbs he can eat. We do not know how many sandwiches or orders or fries he ate but he do know how many carbs are in each of them. if we assume he only ate one of each we can add up his total carbs 45+ 40 = 85 which is less than 150 but since we don't know if he really only ate one we can but and "x" value to fill in once we are given the missing information. the "x" value can stand for any number, in this case it's the total number of burgers and the total number of fries that Sammy ate.
