Answer:

King Philip II of Spain was, personality-wise, less cautious than Elizabeth I of England. He sought a more active foreign policy, in part because he had to, since he was not only a king, but the emperor of a huge Spanish Empire that included territories all over the world.

King Philip was a devout catholic who saw himself as a defender of the Pope, and as a leader of the counter-reformation. His anti-protestanism was one of his motivations for invading England in 1588.

Elizabeth I was more reserved, in part because he did not have as much power as Philip II. She was the king of a small island-country, not the empress of a transoceanic empire. She was relatively tolerant of other religiouns while being anglican herself.

She did not had a lot military success until the Anglo-English war when her army defeated the Spanish Armada.

Who were the Zulu people originally before rising to an empire? Question 1 options: a large tribe in Northern Africa
weqwewe [10]

The correct answer is a relatively small tribe of the Bantu people

The Zulu are people who live in what is now South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In the past, they maintained forms of survival based on wars. They fought, for example, against the invasion of the British and Boer peoples, even in the 20th century. Nowadays, political power within the tribe works in a restricted way.

The Zulus, formerly, were a clan founded by Zulu kaNtombhela. Thus, when Chaka, in 1816, became head of the tripo, the orders were for the power to expand to other tribes and clans. Thus, the Zulu Empire was formed.

However, the tribe did not have an army, let alone weapons and war power. Thus, as leader of the clan, Chaka organized ways to train and arm the warriors of the tribe. Among the armaments made for the fighting were large shields produced from layers of cow hair. After training that included stepping on thorns, the warriors were ready for the clashes.

Thus, the Zulus became quick and silent in their attacks, taking enemies by surprise. However, the strength acquired by the tribe was not sufficient to face the Dutch and English. Thus, in 1887, the Zulu people were dominated by the British who invaded Zululand.

selective optimization with compensation theory

Explanation:

This theory by Baltes(1990) in symbolic interaction perspective suggests that as individuals get older they seem to try to get the best results from the most little efforts. In other words, an older elderly person with physical limitations seeks to optimize his gains as much as possible while putting as much little effort as is possible(within his physical ability) to compensate for other losses or range of goals that may not have been accomplished.

Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

These four students would be considered members of a clique.

Explanation:

A clique refers to a group of individuals who generally have similar likes/dislikes, etc. and they tend to interact mostly with one another. Their relationship may seem exclusive to others.

In this case, Jane, Mark, Courtney and Kelly have been interacting with each other over a long period of time and it can be deduced that they have started to develop similar interests, views, etc. They would be considered members of a clique, of an exclusive group.
