Firefly luciferase is the enzyme that allows fireflies to illuminate their abdomens. Because this light generation is an ATP-req

uiring reaction, firefly luciferase can be used to test for the presence of ATP. In this way, luciferase can test for the presence of life. The coupled reactions are 1. luciferin + O2 ⇌ oxyluciferin + light 2. ATP ⇌ AMP + PPi ΔG∘=-45.28 kJ/mol If the overall ΔG∘ of the coupled reaction is -8.03 kJ/mol , what is the standard free energy of the first reaction at 27∘C?

Answer:

3.28*10^{-7}

Explanation:

ΔG° = - 8.03 kJ/mol & ΔG = -45.28 kJ/mol

Thus:

Overall ΔG = (- 8.03 + 45.28) kJ/mol

ΔG = 37.25 kJ/mol

ΔG = 37250 J/mol

Temperature = 27 °C

= (27 + 273)K

= 300 K

Therefore :

ΔG = -RTInK

In K = \frac{\delta G}{RT}

In K =  \frac{37250}{300*8.314}

In K = \frac{37250}{2494.2}

In K = 14. 93

    K = e^{-14.93}

    K = 3.28*10^{-7}

the standard free energy of the first reaction at 27 °C = 3.28*10^{-7}

H2O is polar covalent or its Hydrogen bond??? PLEASE HELP!!!
Annette [7]

Answer:

Polar covalent.

Explanation:

The covalent bonds are therefore polar, and the oxygen atoms have a slight negative charge (from the presence extra electron share), while the hydrogens are slightly positive (from the extra un-neutralized protons). Opposite charges attract one another.

Carbon exists in nature as three isotopes. Given the atomic masses and relative abundance of the isotopes, what is the average a
Ivan

The most abundant carbon isotope is carbon-12.

The relative atomic mass of carbon is 12.011, which is extremely close to 12.0. This means that the masses C-13, and C-14 are practically negligible when contributing to the relative atomic mass of carbon.

the C-12 isotope makes up 98.9% of carbon atoms, C-13 makes up 1.1% of carbon atoms, and C-14 makes up just a trace of carbon atoms as they are found in nature.
