Cleaner shrimp are a species of shrimp that clean parasites from other organisms. Fish allow the shrimp to eat the parasites in

their mouth. The shrimp get a source of nutrition. The relationship between the shrimp and the fish is A. Commensal B. Mutualistic C. Parasitic. This association indicates that A. the strimp and fish benefit each other. B. the shrimp harm the fish. C. The fish dont benefit from the shrimp.

The first one is B. Mutualistic because mutual agreements is when both parties agree and benefit from the decision (like the fish and the shrimp) The second one is A. The shrimp and the fish benefit each other. Because it is a mutualistic relationship both the shrimp and the fish get something out of it.

The most efficient way to determine whether a reaction is an exothermic chemical  reaction is to use —
A) an oxygen probe
B) a temperature probe
C) a pressure probe
D) a pH probe
...............................................................................................................
Answer:
Reaction is said to be exothermic in nature, if heat is evolved from the system. The resultant product formed is more stable. Since, during exothermic reaction, heat is given out be the system, temperature of system will increase. Hence, temperature is the probe to determine exothermic reaction.

Thus, correct answer is option B) a temperature probe

Part a cyclohexane has a freezing point of 6.50 ∘c and a kf of 20.0 ∘c/m. What is the freezing point of a solution made by disso
Andrei [34K]

The mathematical expression for the depression in freezing point is given as:

\Delta T_{f}= k_{f}m

where, \Delta T_{f} = depression in freezing point

k_{f} = molal depression constant    (20.0 ^{o}Ckg/mole)

m = molality

Molality is defined as the ratio of number of moles of solute to the kg of the solvent

Number of moles  =\frac{given mass in g}{molar mass}

given mass  of biphenyl solute = 0.925 g

Molar mass of biphenyl  = 154.21 g/mol

Put the values,

number of moles of biphenyl =\frac{0.925 g}{154.21 g/mol}

= 0.0059 mole

Molality =\frac{number of moles of biphenyl solute}{mass of the solvent in kg}

Mass of cyclohexane solvent  = 25.0 g

Convert g into kg: 1 kg = 1000 g

Thus, mass of cyclohexane  = \frac{25.0}{1000}

= 0.025 kg

Now, put the values in the formula of molality:

Molality =\frac{0.0059 mole}{0.025 kg}

= 0.236 mole/kg or 0.236 m.

Calculate the depression in freezing point:

\Delta T_{f}= 20.0^{o}C kg/mole\times 0.236 mole/kg

= 4.72 ^{o}C

Now, \Delta T_{f} = T_{solvent} - T_{solution}

4.72 ^{o}C = 6.50^{o}C - T_{solution}

T_{solution} = 6.50^{o}C- 4.72 ^{o}C

= 1.78^{o}C

Hence, freezing point of the solution is 1.78^{o}C.

Four properties of water are listed. It has high thermal conductivity. It reacts with metals to form metal hydroxide and hydroge
erica [24]

Answer:

The chemical properties are then number 2 and 4:

  • It reacts with metals to form metal hydroxide and hydrogen gas.
  • It decomposes to form hydrogen and oxygen.

Justification:

The chemical properties can only be observed when the substance undergoes a chemical change, which is that the substance is transformed into one or more different substances.  As result of a chemical change, the composition of the former substance changes, braking some chemcial bonds and formng new ones.

The number 1 states that the water reacts with metals to form metal hydroxide, meaning that the water is transformed into a new substance, the composition will not be H₂O andy more, since the atoms will be combined with atoms of different elements. Same, can be told about the number 2, which states that hydrogen and oxygen were obtained when water decomposed.

On the other hand, the thermal conductivity of water and the boiling point (the temperature at which the water evaporates) can be measured without changing the composition of the water, so those are physical properties.
