\bf \stackrel{\textit{we know that they are supplementary}}{\stackrel{\measuredangle A}{(3x+18)}~~ + ~~\stackrel{\measuredangle B}{(5x+2)}}~~ = ~~180 \implies 8x+20=180\implies 8x=160 \\\\\\ x=\cfrac{160}{8}\implies \boxed{x = 20} ~\hfill \stackrel{\measuredangle A}{3(20)+18}\implies 78

Answer:

Angle A is 168 degrees and angle B is 12 degrees.

Step-by step explanation:

x=14y

14y+y=180

15y=180

y=12

x=168

help The screen in a theatre is 22 ft high and is positioned 10 ft above the floor, which is flat. The first row of seats is 7 f
Stella [2.4K]
 <span>(a.)
Let's say α is the angle that subtends from the top of the screen to horizontal eye-level.
Let β be the angle that subtends from the bottom of the screen to horizontal eye-level.

tanα = (22 + 10 - 4) / x = 28/x
α = arctan(28/x)

tanβ = (10 - 4) / x = 6/x
β = arctan(6/x)

Ɵ = α - β
Ɵ = arctan(28/x) - arctan(6/x)

(b.)
tanƟ = tan(α - β) = (tanα - tanβ) / (1 + tanα tanβ)
tanƟ = (28/x - 6/x) / [1 + (28/x)(6/x)]
tanƟ = (22/x) / [1 + (168/x²)]
tanƟ = 22x / (x² + 168)
Ɵ = arctan[22x / (x² + 168)]</span>

Which expression is a cube root of -1+ i sqrt 3? (multiple choice)
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the magnitude   (-1)^2  + (sqrt3)^2 = m^2   m = 2

find the angle    arctan (sqrt3/-1) = 120 degrees

the cube root would then be

\sqrt[3]{2}(cos 40 + isin 40)

2. Solve each given equation and show your work. Tell whether each equation has one solution, an infinite number of solutions, o
Ugo [173]
Alright,

(a) 2x+4(x-1)=2
2x+4x-4=2---- Distrubution of 4(x-1)
6x-4=2---- Combining like terms
6x=6---- Making -4 equal 0 by adding +4 to both sides
x=1---- Divide the coefficiant (6)

(b) 25-x=15-(3x+10)
25-x=15-3x-10----Distribute the -1
25-x=5-3x---- Combine like terms
25=5-2x---- Make -x equal 0 by adding +x to both sides
20=-2x---- Make 5 equal zero by subtracting 5 (or adding -5) to both sides
-10=x---- Divide by the coefficiant (-2)

(c) 4x= 2x+2x+5(x-x)
4x=2x+2x+5(0)---- Distribute. Alright this might look hard but realy it is 1x-1x so the answer is 0
4x=2x+2x---- 5 times 0 is 0
4x=4x---- Combine like terms
x=x ---- divide by the coefficiant

Alright! Hope this helps! ;)
