The force exterted and / or experienced by Tabitha's leg is an opposite reaction force equal to the amount of force she exerts when she pushes against the wall. This is explained further on Newton's third law of motion. Otherwise should the force she exerts on the wall overcomes the force of strength of the wall's resistance, the wall will break to the direction of tabitha's push.

I'll give just one. The eruption of Mount Tambora in 1815 was one of the volcanic eruptions with widespread damage. Mount Tambora erupted, bringing thermal waves and tsunamis that killed 38,000 people (estimated). It is not just the tsunami and thermal waves, but also the ash plume that caused a cool down on the earth's atmosphere by 5°C causing "The Year Without Summer" and caused crops worldwide to fail, or degrade causing famine. That is all I know :) have a good day.

A bungee jumper of mass 80kg jumps from a platform.
klio [65]

The speed he was moving at when he finished falling is 30 m/s.

The given parameters;

mass of the bungee, m = 80 kg

impulse provided by the rope, J = 3200 Ns

initial upward velocity of the jumper, u = 10 m/s

  • Let the final velocity after falling = v
  • Let the upwards motion = negative
  • Let the downwards motion when falling = positive

Apply the principle of conservation of linear momentum;

J = ΔP = Δmv = m(v - u)

3200 = 80(v - (-10))

3200 = 80(v + 10)

v+ 10 = \frac{3200}{80} \\\\v+ 10 = 40\\\\v = 40-10\\\\v = 30 \ m/s

Thus, the speed he was moving at when he finished falling is 30 m/s.
