Answer:

Length of wire will be equal to 0.01436 m

Explanation:

We have given resistance R = 1.16 ohm

Diameter of the wire d = 1.628 mm

So radius r=\frac{d}{2}=\frac{1.628}{2}=0.814mm=0.814\times 10^{-3}m

So cross sectional area A=\pi r^2=3.14\times (0.814\times 10^{-3})^2=2.08\times 10^{-6}m^2

Electrical resistivity of copper \rho =1.68\times 10^{-8}ohm-m

We have to find the length of the wire

We know that resistance is given by

R=\frac{\rho l}{A}

1.16=\frac{1.68\times 10^{-8} \times l}{2.08\times 10^{-6}}

l=1.436\times 10^{-2}m=0.01436m

So length of the wire will be equal to 0.01436 m

Sound is a mechanical wave; therefore, it __________.
avanturin [10]
A mechanical wave such as sound needs a medium to travel through. This is why they say that in space, no one can hear you scream (because space is a vacuum and no medium exists). On the contrary, light can exist in wave or particle form. This is why we have the ability to see beyond the realms of the Earth.

4. A substance has a density of 0.79 g/cm'. It is soluble in water. List all the possibilities of what it might be How could you
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

Given that the density of the unknown substance is 0.79 g/cm3 and is soluble in water, the possible substances it could be are;

i) t-butanol

ii) ethanol

iii) 2-propanol

iv) acetone

However, the actual identity of the unknown substance can be obtained by carrying out a boiling point test. The four substances listed above have different boiling points. Hence the boiling point of the unknown substance ultimately discloses its identity.

MATHPHYSSSSSSSS PLEASEEEEEE IM SORRY YOU PROBABLY HATE ME
inysia [295]

Answer:

3.1 m/s

Explanation:

First, find the time it takes for the cat to land.  Take down to be positive.

Given:

Δy = 0.61 m

v₀ = 0 m/s

a = 9.81 m/s²

Find: t

Δy = v₀ t + ½ at²

(0.61 m) = (0 m/s) t + ½ (9.81 m/s²) t²

t = 0.353 s

Now find the horizontal velocity needed to travel 1.1 m in that time.

Given:

Δx = 1.1 m

a = 0 m/s²

t = 0.353 s

Find: v₀

Δx = v₀ t + ½ at²

(1.1 m) = v₀ (0.353 s) + ½ (0 m/s²) (0.353 s)²

v₀ = 3.1 m/s

If a ball is tossed straight up into the air, at what position is its potential energy the greatest?
krok68 [10]
A. when it reaches the top of its flight

potential energy increases as the height of the object does, and the highest point of a ball's flight is when it reaches the top.
