Answer:

Float more above the water level

Explanation:

As we know that during flotation of the force balance equation is given as

F_g = F_b

weight of the cork is balanced by the buoyancy force due to liquid

so here we can say

mg = \rho V g

V = volume of submerged part of the cork

now we have

V = \frac{m}{\rho}

now as we add more salt in the water then the density of water will increase due to which the submerged part of the volume will decrease as we know that it is inversely depends on density of the water

so here submerged volume will decrease so cork will float more part above the liquid level

Five liters of air at 50 c is warmed to 100c what is the new volume if the pressure remain constant
KonstantinChe [14]
To solve the problem, we can use Charle's law, which states that for an ideal gas at constant pressure the ratio between absolute temperature T and volume V remains constant:
\frac{T}{V}=k
For a gas transformation, this law can be rewritten as
\frac{T_1}{V_1}= \frac{T_2}{V_2} (1)
where 1 and 2 label the initial and final conditions of the gas.

Before applying the law, we must convert the temperatures in Kelvin:
T_1 = 50^{\circ}C + 273 = 323 K
T_2 = 100^{\circ}C+273=373 K
The initial volume of the gas is V_1 = 5 L, so if we re-arrange (1) we find the new volume of the gas:
V_2 = V_1  \frac{T_2}{T_1}=(5 L) \frac{373 K}{323 K}=5.77 L

A 59.7 g piece of metal that had been submerged in boiling water was quickly transferred into 60.0 mL of water initially at 22.0
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

s = 382.45 J/kg C

Explanation:

Here by energy equivalence we can say that energy given by the metal piece is same as the energy absorbed by the water

so here we have

m_1s_2\Delta T_1 = m_2s_2 \Delta T_2

here we know that

m_1 = 60 mL = 0.060 kg

s_1 = 4186 J/kg C

\Delta T_1 = 28.5 - 22

m_2 = 59.7 g = 0.0597 kg

\Delta T_2 = 100 - 28.5

0.060(4186)(28.5 - 22) = (0.0597)(s)(100 - 28.5)

1632.54 = 4.27 s

s = 382.45 J/kg C
