kumpel [21]

Answer:

I am guessing about 150 - 200 students did not buy a yearbook.

Step-by-step explanation:

First let's assume that there are 1,000 or so students in the school. 856 would be a little over 4/5 of 1,000 just as 8 would be 4/5 of 10.

Alejandra plans to sew fringe on a scarf. The scarf is shaped rectangle. The length of the scarf is 48 inches. The width is one
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
Ok so you will be finding the perimeter of this rectangle. The formula is P(perimeter)=2L(length) + 2W(width)

so the length is 48 and the width is 1/2 of 48, and we all know that 1/2 of 48 = 24 right? so in the formula is says 2L so we will take 48 and multiply it by 2 and get 96. The same way with the width. 24 times 2 = 48 so then we add them together and get 144. Therefore the perimeter and the length of fringe that she will use (or how ever you say it) will be 144 inches.

Hope this helps!;)

Nadusha1986 [10]
It’s a little complicated but here’s how it works:
Imagine a table with the intervals
0:4 , 4:6 , 6:7 , 7:10 , 10:13 (10 year intervals)
Then we have different rows
Class width: 4 , 2 , 1 , 3 , 3
Freq density: 0.2 , 0.5 , 1.2 , 0.7 , 0.3
So now calculate frequency where freq = class width * density
Freq: 0.8 , 1 , 3.6 , 2.1 , 0.9
So to find median find cumulative frequency
(Add all freq)
Cfreq = 8.4 now divide by 2 = 4.2
So find the interval where 4.2 lies.
0.8 + 1 = 1.8 + 3.6 = 5.6

So 4.2 (median) will lie in that interval 60-70 years.

Kurt opened a savings account and deposited $3,000.00 as principal. The account earns 5%
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

P = 3,000

r = 5% = 0.05

t = 9 years

Amount after 9 years is

A = P (1+ r)^t

A = 3,000(1+ 0.05)^9 = 3,000 * 1.05^9 = 4653.984648 ≈ $4,653.98

The balance after 9 years, rounded to the nearest cent is

$4,653 and 98 cents

Darell parks his car in a parking garage. The garage charges a certain amount for the first hour and an hourly rate for each add
mestny [16]

Answer:

charges for the first hour = $7.55

charges for each additional hour = $1.55

c = 1.55h + 7.55

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x = charges for the first hour

y = charges for each additional hour

x + 2y = 10.65 (1)

x + 5y = 15.30 (2)

Subtract (1) from (2)

5y - 2y = 15.30 - 10.65

3y = 4.65

y = 4.65/3

= 1.55

y = $1.55

Substitute y = 1.55 into

x + 2y = 10.65

x + 2(1.55) = 10.65

x + 3.10 = 10.65

x = 10.65 - 3.10

= 7.55

x = $7.55

c = 1.55h + 7.55
