Restriction enzymes are used in DNA profiling because they cleave DNA molecules at or near a specific sequence of bases that are called restriction sites. <span>Gel electrophoresis is a method of separating DNA and RNA and proteins based on molecular sizes. It works by pushing the molecules with an electric field through a gel that has pores that separates them.</span>

The resistance created by waves on a 120-m-long ship is tested in a channel using a model that is 4 m long Y Part A If the ship
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

V_m = 12.78 km/hr

Explanation:

given,

length of the ship = 120 m

length of model of the ship = 4 m

Speed at which the ship travels = 70 km/h

speed of model = ?

by using froude's law

  F_r = \dfrac{V}{\sqrt{L g}}

for dynamic similarities

  (\dfrac{V}{\sqrt{L g}})_P = (\dfrac{V}{\sqrt{L g}})_{model}

  (\dfrac{V_p}{\sqrt{L_p}}) = (\dfrac{V_m}{\sqrt{L_m}})

  (\dfrac{70}{\sqrt{120}}) = (\dfrac{V_m}{\sqrt{4}})

          V_m = 12.78 km/hr

hence, the velocity of model will be 12.78 km/h

A 6 kg weight is lifted off the ground to a height that gives it 70.56 j of gravitational potential energy. what is its height?
Marina CMI [18]
GPE= 70.56 J -------------------> GPE= mgh-------------> X= height
70.56 = 6(kg) * 9.8(m/s/s) * X
70.56 = 58.8X
70.56/58.8= 58.8X/58.8
X= 1.2
The height is 1.2 feet or meters (whatever unit you are using in this problem)

The sun rotates once in 25.05 days. That is 601.2 hours. so the sun's rotational speed is 0.0017 rotations per hour. what is the
Margaret [11]

Answer:

v=2019.09\ m.s^{-1}

Explanation:

Given:

  • time taken by the sun to complete one revolution, t=601.2\ hr
  • radial distance of the sunspot, r=6.955\times 10^8\ m.s^{-1}

<u>Therefore, angular speed of rotation of sun:</u>

\omega=\frac{2\pi}{601.2\times 3600} \ rad.s^{-1}

<u>Now the tangential velocity of the sunspot can be given by:</u>

v=r.\omega

v=6.955\times 10^8\times \frac{2\pi}{601.2\times 3600}

v=2019.09\ m.s^{-1}
