Answer : An aldehydes are the product of oxidation of primary alcohol.

Explanation :

As we know that the primary alcohols are converted into aldehydes and water via oxidation.

In the terms of organic chemistry we can say that the,

Oxidation takes place by the loss of hydrogen ion or gain of oxygen or loss of electrons.

Reduction takes place by the gain of hydrogen ion or loss of oxygen or gain of electrons.

In the oxidation of primary alcohol, the oxidizing agent removes the hydrogen from the alcohol and forms an aldehyde. The oxidizing agent is represented as [O] in the reaction.

For example :

CH_3-CH_2-CH_2-OH\overset{[O]}\rightarrow CH_3-CH_2-HC=O+H_2O

Hence, from the above information we conclude that an aldehydes are the product of oxidation of primary alcohol.

When one atom of carbon reacts with two atoms of oxygen, they combine to form one molecule of carbon dioxide. How many atoms of
tankabanditka [31]

The equation is: C+O2=>CO2

Since we got 10 molecules of CO2 new balanced equation would be 10C+10O2=>10CO2

from this equation we can see that we have 10 molecules of oxygen, however ,we need to find atoms. There are 2 atoms in the oxygen molecule so we need to multiply 10 by 2 which gives us 20 atoms.

The answer: there are 20 atoms of oxygen

A coffee-cup calorimeter initially contains 125 g water at 24.28C. Potassium bromide (10.5 g), also at 24.28C, is added to the w
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

The solution is given below

Explanation:

Heat, q= mc∆T

q= 125g x 4.18 J/g∙°C x (21.18x- 24.28) °C

q=  -1619.75J

NEGATIVE SIGN INDICATES THAT HEAT IS ABSORBED.

Enthalpy Change, ∆H = 1619.75 7/ 10.5 g

                                     = 154.26 J/g

No. of moles of KBr = Mass of KBr/ Molecular Weight of KBr

                                =10.5g/119gmol-1

                                =0.088 mol

∆H= 1619.75 J/ 0.088 mol

      = 18.41 kJ/mol
