1. People back then wet not open minded. Think of it as trying to explain to your old school grandparents that being gay is okay. They are usually closed minded because that was not how they were raised. So the people did not want to be said they were wrong and they didn't want there reputations as scholars (most of them were scholars) to be tarnished. They're logic was that they weren't open minded.

TIME REMAINING
Karolina [17]

Answer:

Nature provides signs of autumn.

Explanation:

Emily Dickinson's poem "Autumn" is a short poem of two stanzas where the poet talks of the season of autumn. The eight lines of the poem show or express the visible signs that suggest autumn is here.

The signs such as "<em>nuts getting brown</em>", plump berries, scarlet fields, etc. are all suggestive of the autumn season. And in painting the image of the mellowed scene of autumn, the speaker/poet expresses the central idea of nature providing signs of the autumn season.

Thus, the correct answer is the third option.

loris [4]
According to Freud, personality develops through a series of psychosexual stages. During infancy, the psychosexual stage is called the oral stage. This stage is also known as hemitaxia. It is the first stage of he psychosexual development according to Freud. It the stage where the primary erogenous zone of an infant is its mouth. It starts from birth up to year 1. The infant would satisfy his cravings through the mouth by sucking and tasting.  Since at this stage the baby is completely dependent, the baby would develop comfort and trust by the oral stimulation he gets from his caretakers or the one responsible for him.
