The social cognitive theory of hypnosis suggests that people in hypnotic states are performing the social role of a hypnotized person. The social cognitive theory of hypnosis is under the non-state theories of hypnosis.

EXPLANATION:

The theory of hypnosis is divided into two: State theory and Non-State theory. The explanations are described below:

• STATE

Main theories:

• There is a special trans condition

• It is characterized by suggestibility and imagination

• It involves the distortion of reality, e.g. amnesia

• It is considered as involuntary behavior

• It believes that EEG will show different physiology in the future

THEORY OF DISSOCIATED CONTROL (Woody and Bowers, 1994)

Actions governed by:

• Contingency scheduling is a habitual action that is triggered

• Monitoring attention system is more complicated and less well-known actions

• Hypnosis releases the surveillance system and the subject's behavior is triggered by automatic and involuntary suggestion,

NEO-DISSOCIATION (Hilgard, 1986)

• Actions are regulated in a normal way, but awareness of them is separated. Usually "executive ego" enables what is important to be focused on.

• Hypnosis affects priority.

• The hidden observer is iced water and pain control. Subjects assessed hand pain in iced water. No suggestions = high pain. Suggestions = low pain. The hidden observer asked = high pain (free handwriting)

• Trance logic is experiments to observe whether people are in a trance or obedient state (Orne, 1972) who have conflicting beliefs without conflict, e.g. "transparent people in chairs" are explained by those who are possessed. Also prevented walking to the chair after negative hallucinations, i.e. they could not see it but they knew it was there.

• NON-STATE

Main theories:

• Responses to suggestions are normal psychology

• Responsiveness is caused by attitude, imagination, etc.

• The phenomenon is within normal human capabilities

• Involuntary behavior can be described in other ways than as a trance

• No evidence will be found

COMPLIANCE (Spanos et al, 1989)

• Depending on an accurate recalculation with the subject " Number 8 experiment," 45 people who are very hypnotized given suggestion they would see a blank paper, 15 did it. Interviewed and told the fakers for not saying anything; real see it and it fades away. 14 then said that they saw "8."

STRATEGIC ENACTMENT (Spanos, 1991)

• The application of cognitive strategies, e.g. with the suggestions of analgesia subjects utilize a self-distraction; amnesia is diverting attention that distracts memory. More active, subjects can be skilled to be actively engaged.

I believe the answer is: people in hypnotic states are performing the social role of a hypnotized person.

Social cognitive theory believe that the behaviours that displayed by an individual would be massively influenced by that individual's observation to the action of other people in his/her surrounding. \

If this theory is used to observe hypnotized person, we can assume that the people in hypnotic state is only behaving based on the expectation of their surrounding.

Where there is no common power, there is no law; where no law, no injustice. Force and fraud are in war the two cardinal virtues
Ann [662]

Answer:

Bearing in mind this fragmentation of Chapter XIII of Leviatan, I consider that man by nature is a social being

Explanation:

We are born with the instinct to depend on the care and love of our parents, as we grow we feel the need to interact and share with others people, we are born with the innate desire to help, care for and respect those who need it, therefore justice is always linked to our being, even for many people who do not believe in God, they feel the desire to do and exercise justice when they see that bad things happen to innocent people, therefore how are we going to manifest justice in a society if we are only going to be alone? justice is a relative quality that is manifested in the daily life and interact with other people.

An individual's ability to handle their given roles in society is called their __________ age, and it may be a better indicator
marishachu [46]

Functional age.

Functional age is the idea that perhaps a "with it" 80 year old might be still able to work while some 55-year olds might not. Simply looking at both candidates through the lens of chronological age would not account for the differences in functional ability.
