Thirty percent of the fifth grade students in a large school district read below grade level. The distribution of sample proport

ions of samples of 100 students from this population is normal with a mean of 0.30 and a standard deviation of 0.045. Suppose that you select a sample of 100 fifth grade students from this district and find that the proportion that reads below grade level in the sample is 0.36. What is the probability that a second sample would be selected with a proportion less than 0.36?

Answer: 0.9088

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : \mu=0.30

\sigma=0.045

Let x be a random available that represents the proportion of students that reads below grade level .

Using z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma , for x= 0.36 , we have

z=\dfrac{0.36-0.30}{0.045}=1.33333

Using standard normal z-value table,

P-value = P(

P(z [Rounded yo the nearest 4 decimal places.]

Hence, the probability that a second sample would be selected with a proportion less than 0.36 = 0.9088

satela [25.4K]

To make y the subject, we must move everything to one side and y on the other.

  x + 2y = 6\\2y = 6 -x\\2y = -x + 6\\y =-\frac{1}{2} x + 3

Good day and I hoped that helped!

How can you use the quadratic formula to complete a square?
Marina86 [1]
It has become somewhat fashionable to have students derive the Quadratic Formula themselves; this is done by completing the square for the generic quadratic equation ax2 + bx + c = 0. While I can understand the impulse (showing students how the Formula was invented, and thereby providing a concrete example of the usefulness of abstract symbolic manipulation), the computations involved are often a bit beyond the average student at this point.

$1.75 + $0.25x <span>≤ $15; x < 53

So the first one. Because you must pay the flat fee, and then for x miles you must pay $0.25. When you do (15-1.75) / 0.25 the answer is 53.</span>
