Viruses are particles of DNA surrounded by a protein coat in which way do viruses depend on living cells

Viruses need to infect living cells of other organisms in order to replicate their genetic material. When not in an infected living cell, they are considered independent particles, in the form of DNA surrounded by a protein coat. Only when a virus enters and infects a living cell, it can then start its reproductive cycle. It uses the host's (infected cell) replication system, to replicate its own DNA or RNA and create the necessary viral proteins to create more viruses. The newly created viruses are then able to infect other living cells.

What would most likely happen if a person increased the amount of saturated fat in his or her diet?
Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

The person's risk of cardiovascular disease would increase.

Explanation:

saturated refers to all single bonds in the hydrocarbon chain, meaning no kinks in the chain. The hydrocarbon has the most number of carbons it can have, as there are all single bonds. If the hydrocarbon has even one less carbon, there would be kink, and it would be unsaturated and liquid. Our body needs less carbon, so unsaturated fats are better. But having saturated fats means no liquid, rather solid, which means harder for the blood to get to the heart. So your risk would cardiovascular disease would increase

What is turgor pressure, what causes it, and what does it do for a plant?
ANEK [815]

Turner pressure is simply the force within the plant cell that pushes the cell membrane or plasma membrane against the cell wall.

It is caused by the Osmotic flow of water through the semi permeable membrane.

It helps the plant cells to remain turgid and stand tall so as to prevent it from wilting

Answer:

peptide antigens by MHC class II molecules

Helper T cells are activated by peptide antigens by MHC class II molecules. These antigens express on the surface of antigen-presenting cells (APCs). After activation, the T helper cells divide and secrete cytokines  to assist the immune response.

Researchers studied mice embryos to determine whether the cells of the ear bones originated from the same embryonic cells as the
Rina8888 [55]

The researchers will use mice instead of opossums or humans to determine whether the cells of the ear bones originated from the same embryonic cells as the cells that form the jaw in other vertebrates because in this type of experiment, organisms that are ideal are the ones that have a short life span, easy to be researched on and easy to mantain.

It will be very tedious and demanding to use opossums and humans in this type of practical experiment because,it is against the culture and norms guilding human living and existence to use humans as model organisms, opossums as well are very bad model organisms because unlike the mice, opossums are long lived and it will be very difficult to raise and maintain an opossum in a laboratory.

Humans and mice are both mammals just that human is a higher mammal but they share similar features in terms of pattern of development, though there is a clear difference during their early development,so because of the common ancestry shared by the mice and humans, the result of the experiment on the mice with share a close similarity with the pattern that is expected in humans.
