I would say it has extra information. All you need to really know is that she's going to type 500 words. The info about writing the essay in 5 hours and how many pages is not needed. To solve, I would divide 500 by 60, which is 8.3 repeating, or just 8.3, so it'd take 8.3 minutes to type it up. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If majority of adults prefer a window seat when they fly, it means that more than half or more than 0.5 of the population prefer a window seat when they fly.

We would set up the hypothesis test.

For the null hypothesis,

p = 0.45

For the alternative hypothesis,

p > 0.5

Considering the population proportion, probability of success, p = 0.5

q = probability of failure = 1 - p

q = 1 - 0.5 = 0.5

Considering the sample,

Sample proportion, P = x/n

Where

x = number of success = 492

n = number of samples = 806

P = 492/806 = 0.61

We would determine the test statistic which is the z score

z = (P - p)/√pq/n

z = (0.61 - 0.5)/√(0.5 × 0.5)/806 = 6.24

From the normal distribution table, the p value < 0.00001

Since alpha, 0.01 < than the p value, then we would reject the null hypothesis. Therefore, at a 1% significance level, we can conclude that the majority of adults prefer a window seat when they fly.

Please help me with the work because i dont understand this.
Alexandra [31]

Answer:

The dimension are 20 ft by 15 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

A = l*w

P = 2(l+w)

we know the area = 300

and the perimeter = 70

300 = lw

70 = 2 (l+w)

divide by 2

70/2 = 2/2 (l+w)

35 = l+w

subtract w

35-w = l+w-w

35 -w =l

substitute this into 300 = lw

300 = (35-w) * w

distribute

300 = 35w - w^2

subtract 300 from each side

0 = -w^2 +35w - 300

divide by -1

0 = w^2 - 35w + 300

factor

0= (w-15) (w-20)

using the zero product property

w-15 = 0   w-20 =0

so w=15, w=20

if w=15   then l=35 -w  l = 35-15   l=20

if w=20  then l=35-w   l= 35-20 = 15

The dimension are 20 ft by 15 ft
