The measure of angle 4 is 66 degrees. That is because the angle of 4 is equivalent to the angle of 8 because of the parallel lines. A straight line is 180 degrees so 180 - 114 = 66 degrees. Angles 7 and 8 have to equal 180.

Hi Bre,

Since lines a and b are parallel, we know that in the image:
- ∡1 ⇔ ∡5
- ∡2 ⇔ ∡6
-       ...
- ∡4 ⇔ ∡8

We're given the angle of ∡7, which is 114°.  We can see that ∡7 + ∡8 will equal to 180° (since line b is a straight line) and since ∡8 ⇔ ∡4, we can deduct that ∡7 + ∡4 = 180°.

From here, it's just imputing the information and solving.
⇒ 114° + ∡4 = 180°
⇒ ∡4 = 180° - 114°
⇒ ∡4 = 66°

-Hope this helps!

Jack is drawing circles on a playground for a game. If he draws a circle with a radius 3 feet, what is the area of the circle, t
aev [14]

Answer:

28.2743 square feet (28 square feet, rounded)

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a circle is given by the equation

Area = πr^2

Plug in 3 for the radius

Area= π(3)^2

3 squared is 9

Area= 9 π

Area= 28.2743 square feet

Rounded to the nearest square foot, the area of the circle is 28 square feet.

A wire 390 in. long is cut into two pieces. One piece is formed into a square and the other into a circle. If the two figures ha
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x is the length of the square side.

We know: the two figures have the same area

<=> x^{2} = πr^{2} (r being radius)

<=> x = \sqrt{II} r

perimeter square = 4x = 4*r*\sqrt{II}

perimeter circle = 2*r*π

<=> 390 = 4*r*\sqrt{II}  + 2*r*π

<=> r = 29.16

=> perimeter square =  4*29.16*π

=> perimeter circle = 58.32π

The distance from a point to a line is the length of the ____________ segment from the point to the line.
solniwko [45]

Answer: 1) Perpendicular

2) Concurrent

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance from a point to a line is the length of the perpendicular segment from the point to the line.

As Perpendicular segment is the shortest distance to the point of the line.

When three or more lines intersect at one point, they are concurrent.

Because Concurrent is a situation when three or more lines intersect each other at a single point.
