The rate of photosynthesis may vary with changes that occur in environmental temperature, the wavelength of light (color) and li

ght intensity. Using a photosynthetic organism of your choice, choose only ONE of the three variables and design a scientific experiment to determine the effect of the variable on the rate of photosynthesis for the organism. Make sure you identify how you would measure/calculate the rate of photosynthesis and predict a relative rate compared to a control.

Answer:

Using a experiment to determine the effect of the temperature on the rate of photosynthesis of a plant.

Explanation:

Since the plant produces oxygen (during daylight), I would calculate the amount of photosynthesis by measuring two different conditions. The first plant would be placed in an controlled environment (temperature is always the same) as the oxygen is being produced. The second condition would be a place where the temperature is set to raise in a certain period of time. This second condition would be key to the experiment, as the enzymes responsible to produce oxygen are sensitive to temperature, we would see some raise of the oxygen production till the temperature reaches its optimal value. At the end of the experiment we would see how does temperature influences photosynthesis.

Write a scientific explanation to describe the impact of the infected papaya trees on the toucan population.
seraphim [82]

The infected papaya trees will produce less carbohydrates or chemical energy for the toucan. If there were fewer carbohydrates within each papaya, the toucan's muscle cells would not be able to obtain as much chemical energy as they normally do. This chemical energy will be converted into mechanical energy or heat flow, which the toucan uses to fly.

Therefore, the lower amount of mechanical energy and heat flow from the muscle contractions, it would result into a reduced amount of kinetic energy of motion when the toucan is flying.
