What is Acceleration?

Physics

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity of an object. Thus when the velocity ( direction or magnitude) of an object changes, we say that the particle is accelerating. Mathematically it is written as

a= \frac{dv}{dt}

The units of acceleration are m/s²

Acceleration can be positive or negative. If the velocity of an object increases, we call that as positive acceleration and if the velocity of an object decreases, we call that as the negative acceleration.

Acceleration is a change in velocity over time. Acceleration can be either an increase of a decrease. Negative acceleration is sometimes called deceleration.

in a circuit, where do electric charges go once they have left the voltage source and traveled along the wires?
S_A_V [24]
In an electric circuit, the free electrons are moving around. Since equal charges repel and opposite charges attract, the electrons move from the negatively charged to the positively charged pole of the voltage source.

The eye is actually a multiple-lens system, but we can approximate it with a single-lens system for most of our purposes. When t
hram777 [196]

Explanation:

Given that,

The optical power of the equivalent single lens is 45.4 diopters.

(a) The relationship between the focal length and the focal length is given by:

f=\dfrac{1}{P}

f=\dfrac{1}{45.4}

f = 0.022 m

or

f = 2.2 cm

(b) We need to find how far in front of the retina is this "equivalent lens" located. It is given by using lens formula as :

\dfrac{1}{v}-\dfrac{1}{u}=\dfrac{1}{f}

Here, u = infinity

\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{2.2}

v = 2.2 cm

So, at 2.2 cm in front of the retina is this "equivalent lens" located.

Hence, this is the required solution.

People, animals, and all matter on Earth are
NemiM [27]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

To answer this, we can use process of elimination.

B: This question states that all matter has gravity. This is not correct. All matter is *effected* by gravity, but we do not have gravity inside of us.

C: If this were the case, we would all be floating off into space.

D: Same issue as question B.

What Law and explain why.<br><br> An airplane turns on its jets to accelerate down a runway.
Kaylis [27]

Answer:Newton's 2nd law

Explanation:Newton's 2nd law also states that the rate at which an object changes speed is proportional to the force that is exerted. Engines provide thrust and accelerate a plane forward along the runway. If the engines supply a small force, only a small acceleration will result.
