Let the width be x
width = x
length = 2x - 3

Perimeter = x + 2x - 3 + x + 2x - 3 = 6x - 6

6x - 6 = 78
6x = 78 + 6
6x = 84
x = 14 cm

2x - 3 = 2(14) - 3 = 25cm

The width is 14cm and the length is 25cm

Among 500 freshmen pursuing a business degree at a university, 311 are enrolled in an economics course, 243 are enrolled in a ma
Allushta [10]

Solution :

Let A = Economics, B = Mathematics

n(A) = 311, n(B) = 243, $n(A \cap B) = 135$

a). So, $n(A \cup B) = n(A) +n(B) - n(A \cap B)$

                     = 311 + 243 - 135

                     = 419

b). n(A only) = 311 - 135

                   = 176

     n(B only) = 243 - 135

                   = 108

Exactly one of these two courses

  $=\frac{176+108}{500}$

  = 0.568

c). Neither economics nor mathematics

    $=\frac{500-419}{500} $

  $=\frac{81}{500}$

 = 0.162

Simplify the given expression below 4/3-2i
ANTONII [103]
So-called simplifying, really means, "rationalizing the denominator", which is another way of saying, "getting rid of that pesky radical in the bottom"

\bf \cfrac{4}{3-2i}\cdot \cfrac{3+2i}{3+2i}\impliedby \textit{multiplying by the conjugate of the bottom}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{4(3+2i)}{(3-2i)(3+2i)}\implies \cfrac{4(3+2i)}{3^2-(2i)^2}\implies \cfrac{4(3+2i)}{3^2-(4i^2)}\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
recall\qquad i^2=-1\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
\cfrac{4(3+2i)}{3^2-(4\cdot -1)}\implies \cfrac{4(3+2i)}{9+4}\implies \cfrac{12+8i}{13}\implies \cfrac{12}{13}+\cfrac{8}{13}i

A skateboarder starting from rest accelerates down a ramp at 2 m/s for 2 s. What is the final speed of the skateboarder
Sedaia [141]

Initial speed of the skateboard (u) = 0 m/s (Starts from rest)

Acceleration of the skateboard (a) = 2 m/s²

Time taken by the skateboard (t) = 2s

By using equation of motion, we get:

\bf \longrightarrow v = u + at \\  \\ \rm \longrightarrow v = 0 + 2 \times 2 \\  \\ \rm \longrightarrow v = 4 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

\therefore Final speed of the skateboard(v) = 4 m/s
