Convert 6.93 x 1024 atoms of carbon to moles of carbon.
Aleksandr [31]

Answer: 11.5 moles of carbon

Explanation:

Based on Avogadro's law:

1 mole of any substance has 6.02 x 10^23 atoms

So, 1 mole of carbon = 6.02 x 10^23 atoms

Z moles = 6.93 x 10^24 atoms

To get the value of Z, cross multiply:

(6.93 x 10^24 atoms x 1mole) = (6.02 x 10^23 atoms x Z moles)

6.93 x 10^24 = (6.02 x 10^23 x Z)

Z = (6.93 x 10^24) ➗ (6.02 x 10^23)

Z = 1.15 x 10

Z = 11.5 moles

Thus, there are 11.5 moles of carbon.

How do the particles in each state of matter move
hodyreva [135]

the particles of solids move but very slowly.

the particles of liquids move moderately fast

the particles of gas move very fast.

The reasons for this movement is the space the particles are together. Since there is not move space between solids, the particles move slowly, water there is moderate space, and air there is a lot of space.

The different molecules that make up the air in a room have on average the same kinetic energy. How does the speed of the differ
kap26 [50]
The formula for kinetic energy is KE=1/2(mv²).  Since both mass and velocity are multiplied by each other, particle with a larger mass needs to be moving slower than a particle with less mass if both have the same kinetic energy. You can think of it as 2KE/m=v² or 2KE/v²=m, If you increase the mass the velocity needs to decrease to keep the same KE value.

I hope this helps.  Let me know in the comments if anything is unclear.

The two main types of weathering are
tester [92]

The two main types of weathering are material and chemical.

Mechanical weathering is the disintegration of rock into smaller and smaller fragments.

Chemical weathering transforms the original material into a substance with a different composition and different physical characteristics.
