Answer:

A negative feedback response is generated to lower down the blood sugar level.

Explanation:

When a person consumes a huge amount of sugar, the blood sugar levels are increased beyond the normal range. This deviation from the homeostasis is counteracted by the body. There is an increased secretion of insulin hormone from the pancreas. Insulin triggers the body cells to take up the extra sugar present in the blood to restore its normal range. Since the body generates a response to oppose the increased blood sugar level, it is an example of negative feedback.

Which process will be immediately inhibited if cytochrome c is unable to interact with cytochrome c oxidase
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

Electron transfer to from cytochrome c to molecular Oxygen in the process of oxidative phosphorylation

Explanation:

Cytochrome c is a protein which is involved in the electron transport chain for the production of ATP molecules during then process of respiration. It a soluble protein found in the intermembrane space of the mitochondria. It receives electrons from ubiquinone at Complex III of the electron transport chain and transfers this electron to molecular oxygen through its interaction with complex IV or cytochrome c oxidase, reducing molecular oxygen to water.

If the interaction of cytochrome c with cytochrome c oxidase is inhibited, the process of elctron transfer to oxygen will be inhibited and, so ATP synthesis will cease.

Ultimately,  respiration will be inhibited resulting in death of the organism. For example, cyanide inhibits cytochrome c oxidase resulting in death of the organism poisoned with cyanide.

Explain the importance of the blood returning to the heart twice in one cycle
a_sh-v [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

It is called a double circulatory system because blood passes through the heart twice per circuit. The right pump sends deoxygenated blood to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated and returns back to the heart. The left pump sends the newly oxygenated blood around the body.

A nurse is caring for a client with varicose veins. which clinical manifestations should the nurse expect with this diagnosis?
vova2212 [387]
The clinical manifestations should the nurse expect are reports of leg fatigue, tortuous veins in the legs and pain in lower extremities when standing.

In addition, leg fatigue is a communal clinical manifestation triggered by venous stasis and insufficient tissue oxygenation. The vein walls deteriorate and dilate causing distended, bulging veins that look tortuous and darkened. As vein walls weaken and dilate venous pressure increases and the valves turn out to be useless in which vein stasis and inadequate oxygenation end result is limb discomfort. The discolored toenails effect from a fungus below the nail or chronic hypoxia, not varicose veins, confined to a small area of heat in a calf is a mark of thrombophlebitis and reddened zones on a leg are symptomatic of thrombophlebitis.

Which is controlled by a positive feedback loop: blood glucose levels after eating or estrogen levels in the days prior to ovula
Yanka [14]

Answer:

Estrogen levels days prior to ovulation

Explanation:

Estrogen is responsible for the reproductive system in women and high levels occur naturally during menstruation as compared to glucose levels in blood as the pancreas is constantly producing more insulin to lower the glucose in blood.

The level of productivity in oceans can be explained by the fact that ____.
musickatia [10]

The level of productivity in oceans can be explained by the fact that the volume of the global ocean is enormous.

The oceans cover about 70% of the earth. This makes the ocean to occupy the largest volume on earth.

In spite of this large volume, the productivity of the ocean is just about 55 billion tons.

This low productivity of the ocean is tied to its large volume and small amount of primary productivity.
