1/10 meter per second. 10 meters = 100 seconds.

1/2 meters per second. 10 meters = 20 seconds.

It takes 80 seconds longer for the giant tortoise.

Can someone please help, my homework is so soon
statuscvo [17]

The line above the 6 and 3 means that those are recurring, so the full number is 2.63636363.... Recurring numbers can never be defined by decimals, because there is no end to the numbers repeating. It can only be defined by a fraction, so that means the number is irrational. Because it is between integers (a fraction that can't be simplified and will give a recurring decimal), it can't be a real number. All rational numbers are real numbers, but no irrational number can be a real number.

Therefore, your answer is 'Irrational number'.

Hope I helped!

Provide the first six terms of the following sequence:<br><br> t1=81 tn=1/3tn-1
Andrews [41]

We get tne n-th term with: tn=1/3tn-1

We know that the first term is t1=81, so 81=1/3t*1-1

81=1/3t-1

82=1/3t

82*3t=1

3t=1/82

t=1/82*3=1/246

The second term is: 1/

2*(1/246)*2)-1

We get the third term by replacing n with 3 and so on...

(2x)^-1<br> how do u put this into a positive exponent and a fraction?<br> 20 points
Naddika [18.5K]

For this case we have that by definition of power properties it is fulfilled that:

a ^ {-1} = \frac {1} {a ^ 1} = \frac {1} {a}

Then, if we have the following expression:

(2x)^{ -1}

Applying the property, we can rewrite the expression as:

\frac {1} {(2x) ^ 1} = \frac {1} {2x}

Answer:

\frac {1} {2x}
