I would say C because extra friction would make the machine work more and therefore create more heat.

Option (c) is correct.

Friction is a force that opposes the motion of an object. Friction is a non conservative force. So the work done against the friction is dissipated as heat and gets wasted. That decreases the work output of a machine. We can increase the work output of a machine by using efficient fuels, using lubricants etc. we can also improve the design of the machine to increase the work output. Thus increasing friction will not increase the work output but will decrease it.

What is the difference between diatomic and poly-atomic molecules? Site some examples.
Olegator [25]
Their difference lies in the prefix used before each root word, atom. The diatomic molecules are composed only of 2 atoms such as that of the diatomic elements: H2, O2, N2, Cl2, etc. On the other hand, polyatomic molecules are made up of three or mole atoms such as NH4+, H2SO4, etc.

At what altitude above the earth's surface would the acceleration due to gravity be 4.9 m/s^2? Assume the mean radius of the ear
Mandarinka [93]
We apply the gravity calculation expressed in the formula: g=GM/r2
where G is the gravitational constant, m is the mass and r is the radius
r=√GM/g
(1) Radius = √6.674e-11*5.972e24/8 = 7058 kms Earth radius or surface of earth from center of earth= 6400 kmsSo r= 658 kms from surface of earth.
Gravity 8m/s2 will be at 658 kms from surface of earth.
(2) half gravity= 9.8/2= 4.9 m/s2 Radius=√6.674e-11*5.972e24/4.9 = 9019 kms Half Gravity will exist at 9019-6400= 2619 kms from surface of earth.

What happens when someone is walking across the carpeted room then touches a metal door knob
igomit [66]
Static electricity travels to the door knob because of the friction caused by the feet on the carpet. the friction traveled through the person, to their hand, and to the door knob because it is the best conductor.

The seeds were sown (change the voice)
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

He sowed the seeds

Explanation:

While the question should have given the person who did the sowing for example the seeds were sown by him/ her/ the farmer/ or any name. Therefore, voice is given in passive and to change passive voice to active voice then the sentence will read as follows assuming that the seeds were sown by him

A research submarine can withstand an external pressure of 62 megapascals (million pascals) all the while maintaining a comforta
Alex

Answer:

The depth will be equal to 6141.96 m

Explanation:

pressure on the submarine P_{sea} = 62 MPa = 62 x 10^6 Pa

we also know that P_{sea} = ρgh

where

ρ is the density of sea water = 1029 kg/m^3

g is acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s^2

h is the depth below the water that this pressure acts

substituting values, we have

P_{sea} = 1029 x 9.81 x h = 10094.49h

The gauge pressure within the submarine P_{g} = 101 kPa = 101000 Pa

this gauge pressure is balanced by the atmospheric pressure (proportional to 101325 Pa) that acts on the surface of the sea, so it cancels out.

Equating the pressure P_{sea}, we have

62 x 10^6 = 10094.49h

depth h = 6141.96 m
