For this we would first simplify using order of operations.
6(-3-x) - 2x = 14 ------> Distribute
-18 -6x - 2x = 14 ------> Combine Like Terms
-8x - 18 = 14 Now we want to isolate x!
-8x - 18 = 14 ------> Add 18 to both sides.
-8x = 32 ------> Divide both sides by -8.
x = -4
Hope this helps!

A circle circumference is 600 M. what is the good approximation of the circle area
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

The area of the circle is 28662 M².

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Circumference of circle = 600 M.

Now, to find the area of the circle.

So, to get the area we need to find the radius.

By putting the formula of circumference we get the radius:

Let the radius be r.

Circumference = 2πr

600 = 2\times 3.14\times r (taking the value of π = 3.14.)

600=6.28r

Dividing both sides by 6.28 we get:

95.54=r

Now, for getting the area we put the formula:

Area = πr²

Area = 3.14\times 95.54^{2}

Area = 3.14\times 9127.89

Area = 28661.57

So, approximately the area of the circle = 28662 M².

Therefore, the area of the circle is 28662 M².

The height of a triangle is 2 less than 5 times its base. If the base of the triangle is x feet, and the area of the triangle is
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

A. 5x^2 − 2x − 24 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

height = 5b-2

b =x

We can rewrite the height as

h = 5x-2

We know the formula for area of a triangle

A = 1/2 bh

A =1/2 x * (5x-2)

Distributing the x

A=    1/2 (5x^2 - 2x)

We know A =12

12 = 1/2 (5x^2 - 2x)

Multiply each side by 2

12*2 = 2*1/2 (5x^2 - 2x)

24 = 5x^2 - 2x

Subtract 24 from each side

24-24 = 5x^2 - 2x-24

0 = 5x^2 - 2x-24
