Recall,

-formula"> is defined as the ratio of the circumference (say c) of a circle to its diameter (say d). That is, \pi=c/d. This seems to contradict the fact that \pi is irrational. How will you resolve this contradiction?

Though \pi =\frac{c}{d}, it is an approximate value. As we get an approximate value and not a fixed one, there is no contradiction. Mathematically,
\frac{c}{d}=\frac{2 \pi r}{2r}=\pi.
Hence, no contradiction.

Yes, it is true that π = c / d . However, note here that c or the circumference is known by the equation c = 2πr. In finding the circumference, we take value of pi approximately, and hence there is no contradiction. However, even if the circumference is accurate, it will be an irrational number. Recall that an irrational number operated in any way results again into an irrational number.

Question 7: 10 pts
levacccp [35]

The teacher ordered the students in 24 ways.

We have given that the total number of students is 4.

4 students are assigned to give presentations.

We have to find the arrangement of the 4 students.

<h3>What is the arrangement?</h3>

An arrangement (or ordering) of a set of objects is called a permutation. (We can also arrange just part of the set of objects.)

In a permutation, the order that we arrange the objects n is important.

4 students can be arranged by 4! ways.

4!=4*3*2*1\\  =12*2\\=24

Therefore option 3 is correct.

The teacher ordered the students in 24 ways.

Getting x on one side of equal and numbers on the other <br> 2(x+5)=3x+1
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

x=9

Step-by-step explanation:

2(x+5)=3x+1

Distribute the 2: 2x+10=3x+1

Subtract 1 from both sides: 2x+9=3x

Subtract 2x from both sides: 9=1x

Divide: x=9
