I have no "real" answer, because the river may curve...

Fun answer: farmer Ed clearly does not realize you can Not create a rectangular plot that borders a river unless it is artificial and instead of dirt, it would Need to be concrete to ensure a constant straight edge; although even in that case, it would no longer Be a river! It would be a mote or channel. So this problem is unsolvable at his current standards.

If you want just 1430/75 in fraction form then:

1430/75 = \frac{286}{15}  after you divide it by 5.

If you want the divided number in fraction form then:

1430/75 = 19.066... = 19 +  \frac{1}{15} =  \frac{286}{15}

both give the same answer so it doesn't matter.

I think it is 640..  What they mean is every inch equals 4 feet so you would multiply 8*4 and 5*4 then you get 32 and 20.. im sure you know area but just incase its base times height so 32*20=640
