Answer:  (x - 3)² + (y + 0.5)² = 3.25    →    (x-3)^2+\bigg(y+\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)^2=\dfrac{13}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Concentric means they have the same center but different radii.

The equation of a circle is: (x - h)² + (y - k)² = r² where

  • (h, k) is the center of the circle
  • r is the radius of the circle

Complete the square to find the center of the circle

x² - 6x + _____ + y² + y + _____ = 1 + ____ + ____

    ↓ ↓

-6/2 = -3 1/2 = 1/2

Equation: (x - 3)² + (y + 1/2)² = r²

Since the circle passes through point (x, y) = (4, -2), input that into the equation to find r².

(x - 3)² + (y + 1/2)² = r²

(4 - 3)² + (-2 + 1/2)² = r²

  (1)² + (-3/2)² = r²

   1 + 9/4 = r²

                 13/4 = r²

Equation: (x - 3)² + (y + 1/2)² = 13/4    →   (x-3)^2+\bigg(y-\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)^2=\dfrac{13}{4}

In decimal form: (x - 3)² + (y + 0.5)² = 3.25

Norma-Jean [14]

Answer:

Total length of iron needed to make the square frame and two diagonals = 43.44 in (Approx)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Length of diagonal = 9 in

Find:

Total length of iron needed to make the square frame and two diagonals.

Computation:

Area of square = 1/2(diagonal)²

Area of square = 1/2(9)²

Area of square = 40.5 in²

Area of square = Side × Side

40.5 in² = Side × Side

Side = 6.36 (approx)

Total length of iron needed to make the square frame and two diagonals = Permeter of square + (2 × diagonal)

⇒ (4 × 6.36) + (2 × 9)

⇒ (25.44) + (18)

⇒ 43.44 in

Total length of iron needed to make the square frame and two diagonals = 43.44 in (Approx)

Hello!
avanturin [10]

Answer:

  • 7.71 km²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of triangle:

  • A = 1/2bh

We have the value of b but not h.

Added auxiliary segments which help to find the value of h.

See attached for details

  • sin 40° = h/4
  • h = 4 sin 40°
  • h = 2.57 km

The area is:

  • A = 1/2*6*2.57 = 7.71 km²

IN SPANISH
How do you find the area with 3.14 I’m so confused
PLEASE HELP!!!
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

lets use what we know.

given lengths are: 6, 3, 6, and 15.

We need to split the right triangle from the small little rectangle.

Now we add the lengths of the triangle to get the full length:

6 + 6 = 12

now we need to find the base:

15 - 3 = 12

Now we get our area of the triangle:

12 x 12 = 144

144 divided by 2 = 72

Now the small rectangle's area:

6 x 3 = 18

Add both of their areas to get:

72 + 18 = 90 ft2
