Answer : The pressure when the gas occupies a volume of 118 mL is, 2.19 atm.

Explanation :

According to the Boyle's law, the pressure of the gas is inversely proportional to the volume of the gas at constant temperature of the gas and the number of moles of gas.

P\propto \frac{1}{V}

or,

PV=k

or,

P_1V_1=P_2V_2

where,

P_1 = initial pressure of the gas = 1.01 atm

P_2 = final pressure of the gas = ?

V_1 = initial volume of the gas = 256 mL

V_2 = final volume of the gas = 118 mL

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get the final pressure of the gas.

1.01atm\times 256mL=P_2\times 118mL

P_2=2.19atm

Therefore, the pressure when the gas occupies a volume of 118 mL is, 2.19 atm.

Answer;

= 2.191 atm

Explanation;

Using the equation ;

P1V1= P2V2 ;

P1 = 1.01 atm, V1= 256 mL

P2 = ? ,  V2 = 118 mL

but;

P2 = P1V1/V2

      = (1.01 × 256)/118

       = 2.191 atm

What would you do to change a saturated solid/liquid solution to an unsaturated solution
Semenov [28]

Explanation:

Saturated solid/liquid solution is changed to an unsaturated solution by the dilution process.

When the saturated solution is diluted by addition large quantity of solvent it changed to an unsaturated solution.

Saturated solid/liquid solution can also be changed to an unsaturated solution by increasing the temperature or heating the solution.

A saturated solution is a solution where further solute will not dissolve in the solvent.

An unsaturated solution is a solution in which has the ability to dissolve more solute.

1. Electrons surround the nucleus in defined regions called _________________.
lana [24]
Negative electrons are attracted to the positive nucleus. This force of attraction keeps electrons constantly moving around the nucleus. The region where an electron is most likely to be found is called an orbital. Electrons are located at fixed distances from the nucleus, called energy levels.

So i believe the answer you’re looking for is, Orbitals.

#15: identify which of the following atoms has the highest electronegativity and choose the statement that best explains why thi
zhenek [66]

Answer:

Nitrogen

It has the least number of protons in the group hence making it smaller

Explanation:

According to periodic table, electronegativity increases across the period and decreases down the group.

Electronegativity is the tendency of an element to accept electrons towards itself.

In this group of elements, nitrogen has the highest electronegativity because it has the least number of protons in the group. Increase in the number of protons decreases an elements electro negative value.

The least electronegative element in that group is Antimony (Sb).

Electronegativity increases across the period and decreases down the group while electropositivity decreases across the period and increases down the group.
