Jane ran 72 m along the ground (distance), but only wound up 52m from where she started (displacement).

Her average speed was 72/6.8 = 10.6 m/minute, but her average velocity was 7.5 m/minute roughly northeast.

Since the magnitude of that average velocity is only about 0.28 mile per hour, I have to guess that poor Jane is on the barby right about now and the dragon is licking his chops. Poor slow Jane.

What happens when a spinning ice skater draws in her outstretched arms? Group of answer choices Her moment of inertia increases
kotegsom [21]

Answer:

Her moment of inertia decreases causing her spin to speed up. The physics law behind this phenomenon is the conservation of angular momentum.

Explanation:

Theory

The Law of conservation of angular momentum

The angular momentum of a rotating body or a system remains constant unless it is acted upon by an external unbalance force.

Angular momentum = moment of inertia × angular velocity

The moment of inertia = mass×[perpendicular distance from axis of rotation]²

___________________________________________________________

⇒When skater draws in her outstretched arms the mass distribution get concentrated towards the axis of rotation so the moment of inertia of the body decrease.

But angular moment should conserve so angular velocity increases (spin increases)

When a substance is poured from one container to another, its shape changes but its volume does not, what state of matter is the
lianna [129]

Answer: When a liquid substance is poured into a vessel, it takes the shape of the vessel, and, as long as the substance stays in the liquid state, it will remain inside the vessel. Furthermore, when a liquid is poured from one vessel to another, it retains its volume (as long as there is no vaporization or change in temperature) but not its shape.

Explanation: A solid has a definite shape and volume. A liquid has a definite volume, but takes the shape of its container. A gas lacks either a defined shape or volume. Plasma is similar to a gas in that its particles are very far apart, but a gas is electrically neutral and plasma has a charge.
