In a famous experiment, Matthew Meselson and Franklin Stahl grew E. coli cells in a medium containing only the "heavy" isotope o

f nitrogen, 15 N . These cells were then transferred to a medium with the "light" isotope of nitrogen, 14 N . The results of the experiment supported the hypothesis of semiconservative replication, which was proposed by Watson and Crick.

Answer:

The experiment of Meselson and Stahl test the semi-conservative replication

Explanation:

As a context, it can be noted that after the discovery of the double helix by James Watson and Francis Crick, two new theories of DNA replication appeared against the semi-conservative theory that these scientists proposed: on the one hand, the conservative theory was believed, that he postulated that the DNA of the stem cell maintained the two original chains after mitosis; on the other was the scattered theory that held the fragments of the stem cell DNA and synthesized DNA mixed together.

The objective of the experiment of Meselson and Stahl was the discovery of the theories mentioned above was really true. For this, scientists use the E. coli bacteria. They also used the N15 nitrogen isotope. The chemist is one of the fundamental elements of DNA. Thanks to this experiment it was shown that the theory of semi-conservative DNA replication proposed by Watson and Crick was correct.

Choose all the pieces of individual evidence.
faust18 [17]
Criminal evidence is any physical or verbal evidence presented in court to prove a specific crime. Evidence can take different forms and can be used by the accused to prove innocence. Admissible evidence, moreover, is the use of testimony (oral or written such as affidavit), exhibits (physical objects), documentary material or demonstrative evidence ( in the form of representation of an object including photos, x-rays, videotapes, movies, sound recordings, diagrams, forensic animation, maps, drawings, graphs, animation, simulations or models). All are presented before a judge or jury to prove a point or element in a case. In the choices above, six of them can qualify as individual evidence except numbers 3. Number 8, however, is questionable since it has incomplete description as to where and how is the paint was chipped.
