If he's going back using the same roads, then he would have to drive 4km west and then 3km north. If he wants to go diagonally straight to the point of his beginning, then you apply the Pythagorean theorem. c2 = a2 + b2 - the 2 means squared

c2 = 4squared + 3squared
c2 = 16 + 9
c2 = 25
c = SquareRoot of 25
C = 5

If he goes diagonally, then he needs to travel 5km.

In this image of a pendulum, where is the lowest potential energy found?
uranmaximum [27]

Think about the formula for potential energy. (Surely you remember it):

Potential energy = (mass) x (acceleration of gravity) x (height)

-- The mass on the end of the pendulum doesn't change.

-- The acceleration of gravity doesn't change.

-- The only thing that changes is the height of the mass on the end.

So the potential energy is lowest when its height is the lowest.

That's position B .

Anne applies a force on a toy car and makes it move forward. What can be said about the forces acting on the toy car at the mome
tester [92]

The correct answer to the question is unbalanced .

EXPLANATION:

As per Newton's first laws of motion, we know that a body at rest will be at rest or a body moving with uniform velocity along a straight line will keep on moving with the same velocity along that line unless and until it is compelled by some external unbalanced forces acting on.

Hence, it is the unbalanced force which is responsible for creating the motion on the body.

As per the question, Anne applied some force on the toy car. It is called applied force. There is also frictional force between car and the surface which opposes the motion of the car. The toy car will move due to the net force acting on it. The net force is known as unbalanced force.

A thief is trying to escape from a parking garage after completing a robbery, and the thief's car is speeding (v = 13 m/s) towar
rodikova [14]

Answer

Yes, the car reaches the door before the gate closes.

Explanation

The time taken by the car to reach at the door.

Time = distance / time

        = 22/13

          = 1.6923 seconds

Time taken by the door to close up to the height of the car.

Distance the door has to move to prevent the car from escaping = 9.1.4 = 7.6 m

From newton's 2nd law of motion;

s = ut + 1/2 gt²

7.6 = 0.6t + 1/2 × 10t²

7.6 = 0.6t + 5t²

50t² + 6t - 76 = 0

Solving this quadrilatic equation,

t = 28.537 seconds

Answer: Yes, the car reaches the door before the gate closes.

What is the polarity of each of the earths magnetic poles ? Explain you answer
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

When you put un-like poles together (South facing North) you can feel magnetic attraction. In the Northern Hemisphere, your compass needle points North, but if you think about it for a moment, you will discover that the magnetic pole in the Earth's Northern Hemisphere has to be a South polarity.
