The answer is V=168

First you rearrange: v/14+252-(264)=0

Then simplify: v/14.... v/14+ 252) - 264 = 0

Rewrite the whole as an Equivalent Fraction using 14 as denominator: 252=252/1=252*14/14

( I can go on and show you the rest of they way if you want)

The price of a stock had a change of –3 dollars. explain how you would use a number line to find the absolute value of –3.
Naya [18.7K]
Draw out a horizontal line. Place 0 at the center. Then place evenly spaced tick marks on either side of 0. Label the right side of tick marks as 1, 2, 3, ... moving from 0 and going to the right

Label the left side of tick marks -1, -2, -3, ... starting at 0 and moving left

The location -3 on the number line is exactly 3 units away from 0. We start at 0 and move to -3 by moving 3 spots to the left; or we start at -3 and move 3 units to the right to get to 0.

Therefore, the absolute value of -3 is 3
Absolute value on a number line is the distance a number is from 0
The distance is never negative

The 9th graders are selling tickets to raise money for a class field trip. They are selling student tickets for $5 and adult tic
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

Total number of adult tickets sold = 10

Total Number of Students tickets sold = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of student tickets sold.

Let y be the number of adult tickets sold.

As per the question statement, total tickets sold are 40.

x +y =40 ...... (1)

Price of each student ticket = $5

Sales from students' tickets = Price of each students ticket \times Number of students tickets sold

Sales from student's tickets = 5 \times x

Price of each adult ticket = $9

Sales from adult's tickets = Price of each adult's ticket \times Number of adult tickets sold

Sales from student's tickets = 9 \times y

Total sales is done by students and adult tickets is $240 as per the question statement.

\Rightarrow 5x + 9y = 240 ......(2)

Solving equations (1) and (2) using elimination method:

Equation (2) - 5 \times (1) :

5x + 9y -5x-5y = 240-200\\\Rightarrow 4y = 40\\\Rightarrow y =10

Total number of adult tickets sold = 10

Putting y=10 in equation (1):

x+10 = 40\\\Rightarrow x = 30

Total number of students tickets sold = 30

Total number of adult tickets sold = 10

Total Number of Students tickets sold = 30

The weights, in pounds, for 15 horses in a stable were
sweet-ann [11.9K]

The median value remains unchanged if the four values are reported using the corrected weight.

The correct answer is an option (B)

We know that the mean is calculated by finding the sum of all the weights of the horses and then dividing by the number of horses.

Decreasing one of the weights would decrease the sum and therefore decrease the mean.

So, the choice A is incorrect.

We know that the range is the difference between the highest and lowest weights, so decreasing the lowest weight would increase the range.

So, the choice C is incorrect.

We know that the Standard deviation is calculated based on the mean weight of the horses.

And decreasing one of the weights decreases the mean and therefore would affect the standard deviation.

So, the choice D is incorrect.

Now, as we know the median the middle value in a sorted, ascending or descending list of values.

So, the median weight is found by ordering the horses’ weights from least to greatest and then determining the middle value from this list of weights.

Decreasing the value for the horse with the lowest weight doesn’t affect the median since it’s still the lowest value.

Therefore, the median value remains unchanged if the four values are reported using the corrected weight.

The correct answer is an option (B)
