Well for starters, gravity keeps things down on Earth. Also, gravity applies its force on to cars to maintain stability by forcing the tires to make constant contact to the ground creating friction between the rubber and road surface allowing the car to be moved. I'm sure someone else has better ideas!

A dog of mass 4 kg runs up a hill of height 8 m. How much gravitational potential energy does the dog gain?
Genrish500 [490]
A. 314 because when you use the formula for the GPE ; GPE=MGH or means mass times gravity time height (4x8x9.8) and thats equivalent to 313.6 which rounds up to 314. Hope it helps

If the element gallium has an atomic number of 31 and an atomic mass of 70, how many neutrons does it have?
Mumz [18]

Answer:

The answer is 39.

Explanation:

The atomic number refers to the number of protons and the atomic mass is the sum of the protons and neutrons. So, you would just do 70 - 31 and that gets you 39.

What three variable factors determine the force of gravity between any two objects?
brilliants [131]
The force of gravity between two objects is:
F = G*m1*m2/r^2

So, it is dependent of the two masses and the distance between their centers of mass.

The net force acting on an object that is in equilibrium is...?
Ratling [72]

Answer: If the object is at equilibrium, then the net force acting upon the object should be 0 Newton. Thus, if all the forces are added together as vectors, then the resultant force (the vector sum) should be 0 Newton.
