Answer:

a = 3 m/s²

Explanation:

given,

mass of crate = 20 Kg

horizontal force on crate = 70 N

frictional force on the crate = 10 N

acceleration of crate = ?

now, calculating net force acting on the crate.

 F = horizontal force - frictional force

 F = 70 - 10

 F = 60 N

net force on the crate is equal to 60 N.

We also know that

F = m a

60 = 20 x a

a = 3 m/s²

Hence, the acceleration of the crate is equal to 3 m/s²

If an isotope has 8 protons and 10 neutrons in it's nucleus, what is it's atomic mass?
viva [34]
The atomic mass is always equal to the sum of protons and neutrons in the nucleus. If you add the number of protons and neutrons (8 + 10) = 18 you will find that the atomic mass is 18.

Fan can accelerate from the starting blocks to running 11m/s down the track in 5 seconds. What is her acceleration?
Firdavs [7]
To answer this question we subtract the initial velocity from her final velocity. On the starting blocks the initial velocity was 0 m/s. Her final velocity was 11 m/s.t = 11m/s - 0 m/s, so the change in velocity is 11m/s. Time was 5 seconds.Plug it into the formula: 11 m/s ÷ 5 s= 2.2 m/s<span>2</span>

A cylindrical rod of length L is connected across a fixed potential difference, creating a current I through the rod. What would
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

The value of current through the rod becomes half

i' = \frac{i}{2}

Explanation:

As per Ohm's law we know that the current through a resistor is given as

i = \frac{V}{R}

here we know that

R = \rho \frac{L}{A}

here we know that the length of the cylinder is L and area is A so the value of current through the rod is given as

i = \frac{V A}{\rho L}

now we have change the length of the conductor to twice of initial value and rest all parameters will remain the same

so we will have

i' = \frac{VA}{\rho (2L)}

now from above two equations we have

\frac{i}{i'} = 2

so new current will become

i' = \frac{i}{2}
