Burning trees also increases the CO2 levels because combustion is involved. Planting more trees can reduce the effects of deforestation.

Green plants, trees and forest helps to balance the amount of Carbon in the atmosphere, carbondioxide is used up by plant through the process of photosynthesis in which plants make their own food. When there is excess amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as a result of deforestation ‘blanket’ of carbon dioxide is formed which traps heat and prevents it from leaving the earth surface in the atmosphere. This accumulated heat leads to global warming in the environment.
