(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2
center is (h,k) and radius is r

so

given center=(-3,2)=(h,k)
(x-(-3))^2+(y-2)^2=r^2
(x+3)^2+(y-2)^2=r^2
find r^2
ok, (6,4) is a point
sub 6 for x and 4 for y and evaluate

(6+3)^2+(4-2)^2=r^2
(9)^2+(2)^2=r^2
81+4=r^2
85=r^2

the equation is
(x+3)^2+(y-2)^2=85

The coordinate plane below represents a city. Points A through F are schools in the city.
Usimov [2.4K]
Part A. The technique on how to find the equation that only applies to point D and E, is to create a line or curve that only includes two of these points. In this case, I created a random parabola that isolates points C and F from the rest of the points. First, we have to find the equation of the parabola through its general forms:

(x - h)² = +/-4a(y-k)      or    (y - k)² = +/-4a(x - h)

For parabolas drawn like that in the picture, the general form is (x - h)² = +4a(y-k), where the vertex is (h,k) and a is the distance from the vertex to the focus. From the picture, the vertex is at (0,3). Then, we use point D(-2,4) to determine a:

(-2 - 0)² = +4a(4 - 3)
4a = 4

So, the equation of the parabola is:

x² = 4(y - 3)
x² = 4y - 12

Part B. Point D was already verified above. Now for point E(2,4)
x² = 4y - 12
2² ? 4(4) - 12
4 ? 4
4 = 4

Part C. For y < 7x − 4, ignore the equality symbol first and graph the line. Assign random values of x, then you get corresponding values of y. Plot them as shown in the second picture. The line is shown in red. Next, test the equation by choosing a random point. Let's choose the purple point at (4,3).

3 ? 7(4) − 4
3 ? 24
3 < 24

Thus, it applies to the purple point, and all the other areas to that area. The shaded region are all solutions of the inequality. So, Erica is only interested in points E, C and F.

42 is 30% of what number??? Add work plz
romanna [79]
X - the number

30\% x =42 \\
\frac{30}{100}x=42 \\
\frac{3}{10}x=42 \\
x=42 \times \frac{10}{3} \\
x=\frac{420}{3} \\
x=140

42 is 30% of 140.

Which are partial products for 68 × 43?
blagie [28]

Partial products are the products obtained during the intermediate stages in order to complete a multiplication process.

Consider 68 \times 43, we have to determine the partial products in this.

Now, 68 \times 43

Expanding this, we get

(60+8) \times (40+3)

= (60\times 40) +(60 \times 3) + (8 \times 40) + (8 \times 3)

= 2400 + 180 + 320 + 24

= 2924

Hence, 8 \times 40=320 and 8 \times 3 = 24 are the required partial products in the product of 68 and 43.

So, Option 3 and 4 are the correct answers.

Find the general solution of the given differential equation. x dy dx − y = x2 sin(x) y(x) = Correct: Your answer is correct. Gi
trasher [3.6K]

Divide both sides by x^2 - note that this means we can't have x=0:

x\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}-y=x^2\sin x

\dfrac1x\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}-\dfrac1{x^2}y=\sin x

Then the left side reduces to the derivative of a product,

\dfrac{\mathrm d}{\mathrm dx}\left[\dfrac1xy\right]=\sin x

\dfrac1xy=\displaystyle\sin x\,\mathrm dx=\cos x+C

y=x\cos x+Cx

This solution is continuous everywhere, but accounting for the singular point x=0, the largest interval over which it is defined would be (0,\infty) or (-\infty,0).
