Vacuole is the answer.

Wilting is the loss of rigidity of non woody parts of plants and occurs when turgor pressure falls.

The vacuole controls turgor pressure. Turgor pressure dictates the rigidity of the cell and is associated with the difference between the osmotic pressure inside and outside the cell.

When a plant receives adequate amounts of water, the central vacuoles of its cells swell as the liquid collects within them creating a high level of turgor pressure which helps maintain the structural integrity of the plant along with the support of the cell wall.

In the absence of enough water , central vacuoles shrink and turgor pressure is reduced  compromising the plant's rigidity so that wilting takes place.

Answer:

The organ above is responsible for filtering wastes from the digestion of proteins and cleaning the blood of excess salts. It is found in the lower back. It is the <u>kidney </u> and is part of the <u>excretory</u> system.

Explanation:

Kidneys are a pair of a bean-shaped organ which are located in the back abdominal area, under the rib cage. The major function of kidneys is to filter waste from the blood. The waste materials from the food we consume is filtered by the kidneys. Other functions of the kidney include maintaining the fluid balance of the body.

The kidney is one of the major organ of the excretory system along with the ureters and urinary bladder.

The smallest contractile unit within skeletal muscle would correspond to the distance between which two points in the figure?
Tpy6a [65]

The distance between 1 and 7 spans a sarcomere correspond the structure at B is covered by the perimysium.

<h3>What is the smallest contractile unit within skeletal muscle?</h3>

A sarcomere comprises the segment between two consecutive Z lines and is the contractile unit of the muscle fiber, as it is the smallest portion of the muscle fiber capable of contraction and distension.

In this case, the distance between points 1 and 7 has the smallest structure of a skeletal muscle and corresponds to figure B.

Match the following:Part A1. Transverse foramina present.2. No canals or foramen present. It articulates superiorly with the sac
Stels [109]

Answer:

1. Transverse foramina present: Cervical

2. No canals or foramen present. It articulates superiorly with the sacrum: Coccyx

3. Receive the most stress: Lumbar

4. Attach to ribs: Thoracic

5. Articulates with hip bones of the pelvis: Sacrum

Explanation:

The vertebral column is a <u>series of 33 bones called vertebrae</u> that play a key role in organ protection, movement of body, and overall support. The column has been divided into <u>5 different regions</u> with the number of bones.

<u><em>1. Cervical Vertebrate</em></u><u>:</u> These are the group of <u>seven vertebrae of the neck</u>, start immediately below the skull. Two cervical bones C1 and C2 are unique in function. They are responsible for the movement of the head.  They have <u>transverse foramina</u> which <u>gives passage to vertebral artery and vein</u>.

<em><u>2. Thoracic Vertebrae:</u></em> They are a group of twelve small bones that form the vertebral spine in the upper trunk. The function of the thoracic vertebrae is to articulate with ribs to produce the bony thorax.

<em><u>3. Lumbar Vertebrae: </u></em>This is the largest segment of the vertebral column that consists of 5 bones between the rib cage and pelvis. They <u>carry all of the upper body weight</u> providing flexibility and movement to the trunk region.  This is why it can <u>receive the most stress easily</u>.

<em><u>4. Sacrum Vertebrae: </u></em>There are 5 sacral vertebral fused bones. It <u>connects to the hip bones and play role in forming a strong pelvis</u>.

<em><u>5. coccyx Vertebrae:</u></em> These are a group of 4 fused bone. There is <u>no vertebral canal due to a lack of vertebral arches</u>. They <u>provide </u>an <u>attachment site for muscles</u> ligament and tendons. They also <u>play a role in stabilization and support</u> while sitting.
